Pro Bowl defensive end Julius Peppers signing with the Chicago Bears is imminent, the Chicago Sun-Times reported Friday, citing an unnamed source.

The paper also said the Bears will hold a news conference later Friday to announce the singing of Peppers, running back Chester Taylor and tight end Brandon Manumaleuna.

New England and Philadelphia have also made a push for Peppers, but Chicago is offering a higher annual salary, the Sun-Times said.

To the guy who said all it would take is a 2nd for Boldin the bears do not have a second this year. Their first pick will be in rnd 3.  They used their 2nd on Gaines Adams RIP.  They can trade a 2011 2nd round pick I suppose.  Seems teams are willing to take deals like that looking at the Jets and Cromartie deal.

Strong moves made by the Bears but like many have said they need to improve their oline, WR, and secondary.  Reports have them going after Rolle maybe though.

Seems that in the division teams are making moves fast my lions already signed Vander Bocsh, Burleson, and traded for corey Williams.  Unfortunately we need o-line help as well but have plenty of picks in the draft.

Report: Bears likely to sign Peppers, C. Taylor

raven, it all depends on how the money is structured, I guarantee the Bears will frontload the money and then spread the smaller amounts over the remaining years to be more cap friendly.

Sure Peppers is 30 but think of what great pass rushers like Strahan and Reggie White accomplished after they turned 30.

I agree with you guys  Lets get a WR  for Cutler. But  Not T.Owens he is old and washed up. Lets get Boldin he gives it his all no matter what.
