How Do You Access Your League and Why?

It's been kicked around here for a while now that the League Homepage might not be the most ideal experience for team owners.  We've always looked at it as sort of a one stop portal into your fantasy league.  You can get a lot there - content, player news, see your team and standings, league message board, transactions, and view your commissioner's message - but you can't really do anything there. I already know that the lineup page is the most important page in Fantasy, so are we doing you guys a disservice by not giving it to you right away?  Are we getting in the way of you accomplishing your task?  On the other hand, there is a lot of communication that goes on inside of a league.  And we need a way to let you know what is going on.  So, what would be the ideal experience?  If you could design the page that you see when you come into your league?  What would it be?

I would imagine that everyone has their own definition of what it should be.  For me it would be this:

1.  My Team - a place for me to quickly set a lineup or make a roster move and see some player news about my players, and any trades offered to me.
2.  A place to quickly see what is going on in the league - message board postings, recent transactions, commissioner's message, standings.

That's it.  Anything else is extraneous to me.

How Do You Access Your League and Why?

if it aint broke dont fix it!!! I hate when i have to re-learn something i have figured out a long time ago all the info needed is a click or 2 away for every possiable fantasy need CBS sportsline is by far the best and quickest site for fantasy football and i have tried them all. so please please please dont change anything. tweek it if you must but dont change it. now i realize cbs might be tempted to "dumb it down " perhaps to make it easier for a new customer but befor you do that you will be pissing off many loyal and currently happy customers. look what happened to  a succesful company like COKE after they changed their product. im just saying!!!

First, I would stop taking up so much space with your CBS advertising of the videos related to that fantasy sport.  Just make it smaller and give one link to take you to the Page and we can pick there.  Maybe a quick link to set your team on the home page but a more detailed team page.  Why do you need a commissioners message when there is already a messge board?  Cant the commish just post on the message board?  We like the league news funtion it gives us a place for visual smack talk.

I like the layout of the page as it exists. However; It might be nice to make activation changes in the "At a Glance" section under roster. That seems like it would solve one of the home page issues.

My ideal page would be very similar to how it currently is, minus the advertisements for shaving gel, ford trucks or whatever the current flavor of the week is. When the SRP of a product is $180, I would like to buy it knowing that I won't be bombarded with advertisements on every single page that I click. However, if you were to give us the ability to load video to our league homepage like on that tv show "The League," I would gladly drop my opposition to the banner ads. The only thing that I genuinely think needs to be added is an alert box, similar to the commissioner message box, that announces any illegal lineups so that other owners know when somebody in the league has gone AWOL or stupid in the brain.

I'd leave it the way it is! I stick with cbs because of how it's designed. I like reading the columns and the first thing I look at is who has been added and dropped. I usually play in one league on that other big networks site and like cbs better! I do like how the playoff rounds each last 2 weeks in that other game! Instead of having one bad week and losing, the best overall teams will usually move on!

I spend arguably the most time during the season on the Free Agents page.  Ideally I'd like to have a list of the top three free agents at each position in a pane by itself on my homepage.  I'm a big fan of sites with "recommendations" for things that I buy or use frequently.  I don't know how feasible it would be to have the fantasy league suggests players with similar, if not better stats, that I've had on my squad for say, x number of games, but that would be a great feature to have.

how about developing apps for iphone, droid, palm etc that are easier to use than looking the website up in the web.

At a glance - if you could add in roster changes in that tab - that would be great.

How about a CBS official time posted somewhere for last minute lineup changes

Some type of notification when the final stats are posted on Monday would be helpful too.
