Just Call Me "Virgin Blogger!!!"

I tried posting my 1st Blog about Fantasy Football, cause I firmly believe that if you want your material to be read and responded to, you need to know your stuff and not be boring to read.  So, not trying to be a Walt Whittman of a blogger, I tried this before and screwed it up immensely.  Here it goes...

I am HUGE into Fantasy football, like most us probobly are.  A couple days ago, i saw a mock fantasy football draft (only 3 rounds) for this upcoming season and I pose this question...Which team would you want to be staring with.  This mock draft had 12 teams.  One thing i forgot was a point stategy system.  We'll say that all TD's are 6 points.  1 pt per reception, 1/2 point per carry, 1 point per 10 yards rushing/recieving, 5pts. bonus for 300 yards passing; 100 yards rushing/recieving.  If i missed anything...oops.  Here's the draft..

Team #1:  A. Peterson, P. Manning, Kevin Smith

Team #2: M. Turner, A. Boldin, Ronnie Brown

Team#3:  M. Jones-Drew, R. moss, S. Smith(CAR)

Team #4:  Deangelo Williams, Addai, B. Marshall

Team #5:  M. Forte, M. Lynch, R. Wayne

Team #6:  Chris Johnson, B. Jacobs, J. Cutler

Team #7:  Westbrook, T. Brady, Derrick Ward (TB)

Team #8:  F. Gore, Calvin Johnson, T. Romo

Team #9:  M. Barber, A. Johnson, Thomas Jones

Team #10:  S. Jackson, Fitzgerald, Pierre Thomas

Team #11:  S. Slaton, D. Brees, G. Jennings

Team #12:  C. Portis, L. Tomlinson, Roddy White

Now, team #1 would be next to pick, but which team thrills you the most?  At 1st look, if the NFL doesn't suspend Lynch, I LOVE team #5!  I've been more favorable of solid, steady WR's as of last year, so team #3, followed by team #8 is also very intuiging.  All Teams are a decent start, but if there was one team that would scare me if my draft started that way would be team #7.  An aging Westbrook and a rusty Brady would have me worried.  So talk to me, what team would you like?  Peace

Let me get this straight, you picked 3 rounds, 36 players and not one player from the WC Steelers?  No Roth, no Ward, no Parker.  I guess you are a virgin!

Ben Roethlisberger was the 24th ranked QB last year and hardly a #1 QB in fantasy football. Willie Parker isn't what he was 2 years ago and Hines Ward is nearing retirement and far from an elite FF WR. Do you want to play in my league? Because there is nothing better than a couple of homers and a few easy wins to ensure a playoff birth.

First off I want you to know that I am also a Fantasy Football NUT. I just plain love the stuff. I will not slam anything you have put on here because everyone has their own opinion and thats what makes FF so awesome.

I do have one thing to say though. In almost all FF drafts the Snake Draft is used so the next pick in this draft you show on here would be Team #12. The draft goes 1-12 and then 12-1 and back down 1-12 so team 12 has the first pick in the 4th round. I think this was a snake draft because that is how Team #12 got both Portis and LT by having the last pick in round one and first in round 2. Now with this being said here are my choices for the best starts in this draft.

First Choice - Team #11.  Best QB in the NFL - Drew Brees   Exelent RB - Steve Slaton   Exelent WR - Greg Jennings    I also would have the 2nd pick in the 4th round and I would take a RB and I know I get the next highest one on the board because team #12 already has 2 starting RB's and needs a QB or another WR for that pick. My 4th round pick would be RB Ryan Grant from Green Bay. If somebody told me I could start my draft this next season with these players I would jump on it in a heartbeat.

WOW TEAM #11 - QB - Drew Brees   RB's - Steve Slaton and Ryan Grant   WR - Greg Jennings.

Second Choice - Team #1. A top QB - Payton Manning   Premo RB - Adrian Peterson and not to bad 2nd RB Kevin Smith.   I like this start because Manning and Peterson are both great and players you pretty much can't go wrong with. Also this team gets the last pick in round 4 and first pick in round 5 and thats great. You need at least one WR when it gets to this teams choices and there will be good ones left. Then I would take a TE because you would probubly get the best one out there because no one else has selected one. For WR you could have TO, Marques Colston, Houshmanzada, Wes Welker, maybe fall to you and any one of those would be a good add for this team. Then at TE you could have your choice of Antonio Gates, Tony Gonzalez, and Dallas Clark.

THE LOOK OF TEAM #2 - QB - Payton Manning   RB's - Adrian peterson and Kevin Jones   WR - TO or Wes Welker   TE - Antonio Gates

I also like teams #5, #6, and #8.

RISKY teams in my mind are #3, #4, #7, and #10

Team #12 could be the steal of the Draft if LT has a great year and you add a good QB in the 4th round like Warner, Schaub, Mcnabb, or Rivers.

Thanks for the Thread man and all the fun I had putting this on here.

Maybe I didn't clarify clearly enough for you.  I wasn't involved in this mock draft.  It was conducted by CBS Sportsline, and took into the affect that who would go where before the NFL draft.  And, if you feel that with Fantasy football, that you feel the need to have one of our beloved Steelers on your squad, then I guess you will remain an amateur for a while.  For the record, Holmes and Roethlisberger were on my squad last year...finished 8-6 and just missed the playoffs.
