Carlos Beltran is no longer represented by Scott Boras, Jerry Crasnick of tweets. Beltran has switched to Dan Lozano, who is also the agent for Albert Pujols.

Beltran, 34, is a free agent for the first time since 2005, when he signed a seven-year, $119 million with the Mets with the help of Boras. Beltran was ranked as the No. 1 outfield free agent by

Lozano also represents Jimmy Rollins, another of the top free agents available. In our free agent rankings, Beltran, Pujols and Rollins were all among the top 10 position players available in free agency.

Boras isn't likely to go broke with the news, as he still represents Prince Fielder, Ryan Madson, Francisco Rodriguez, Edwin Jackson and more free agents.

Carlos Beltran dumps agent Scott Boras

Is it possible a few athletes are firing Boras because they realize he is toxic in a number of front offices? Front offices with money, where Boras would limit their options to earn more padding for their retirement? At long last... Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. Reminder: Boras should have lost all credibility when he tried to position Oliver Perez as the next Sandy Koufax. Next, we will likely learn that Edwin Jackson is really the reincarnated Big Train Johnson.

Whooptie doo........ he dropped Boras now that he is past his prime and on the downside of his career. This means any other agent is likely to get him the same kind of contract Boras would have gotten him.

It's refreshing to see yet another player drop boras.  Boras is a stain on any sport.  The guy does nothing but convice players to never re-sign during the season and he's account for ripping apart multiple franchises by using his greedy tactics.  If i were an owner i would never deal with any players that were under Scott's command.  He brings nothing but greediness and hard line tactics.  Its either his way or the highway.

Now if only pujols didn't win the world series he could have conspired with beltran and prince fielder to take their talents to "souf beach" to form a super team!
