During his press conference following his successful appeal of a 50-game suspension, Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun tried to cast doubt on specimen collector Dino Laurenzi Jr. Laurenzi later released a statement defending himself, then Thursday, Braun's lawyer shot back.

Laurenzi, though, doesn't just collect samples from the Brewers, according to the Chicago Sun-Times, Laurenzi also collects samples from the Cubs. And while Braun has called Laurenzi's motives into doubt, several Cubs told the Sun-Times that they trust Laurenzi.

"Just from knowing Dino the three years I've been here, he's been nothing but professional," Cubs infielder Jeff Baker told Gordon Wittenmyer of the Sun-Times. "He's been very, very thorough. I have no concerns and no qualms."

Alfonso Soriano also gave his thumbs up to Laurenzi.

"I'm not worried that it's the same guy," Soriano told the newspaper. "I'm not worried because I know what I take. It doesn't matter who takes the sample. If you don't take nothing, he can take [the specimen] home for a week, and nothing will come out."

Cubs players say they trust Braun's collector

Ignorance is bliss huh? Before you start calling people out from your oudated trailer somewhere you should understand all the facts of the story. This whole issue arised due to Braun's sample testing positive for PED's. In no way did Braun prove that the test results were in fact negative, what he disputed was the protocol for chain of custody of the sampkle after collection. Basically look at this way, when you go to your P.O. and he sends you for a piss test the place contracted to collect your sample is supposed to ship out your sample in said time(24 hrs in this case) but it sits for 72 hours before being sent out for lab work. Now lets forget about the fact that the tamper proof seal was still intact when the lab received thgis specimen, what so called "vindicated" Braun was that it was not sent out quick enough. It also helps when thge team the player in question plays for is the Brewers. See commissioners can not own a team due to conflict of interest so Bud Selig the former owners of the Brewers sold his franchise to his daughter to make sure there would be no conflict of interest..... Lets see Brewers lose 1 of top 2 hitters to free agency and were facing losing the other(reigning NL MVP) for a 3rd of season and as luck has it he becomes forst MLB player to ever successfully appeala failed PED test.

Well I guess you would be the dipshit since he actually did fail the drug test, hence why he was going to be suspended. He appealed it and won the appeal based on the chain of evidence issue. He still failed the test.

you dumb fuck, he won the appeal because there is not any prove that he failed the drug test. Read the facts you dipshit, he challenged the test bc he knew it was wrong and he proved iit was wrong!!

The man is dirty and gutless !! Man up and admit it instead od besmirching someone's reputation. The collector had nothing to gain and everything to lose by messing with the test. The seals weren't broken or tampered with. Braun is a scumbag !!

Cubs players say they trust Braun's collector

Being a Brewer fan and resident of Milwaukee all my life, I can see why this would bother Cubs players and fans.  Of course the Cubs are gonna say they "trust" the guy because that guy messed with the sample of Braun.  A little wierd that a guy who has been doing tests for the Cubs the past 3 years all of a sudden had to do the Brewers and Brauns test comes back positive.  All you pathetic cub fans are trying to do whatever you can to "try" to give your shitty team a chance to beat us why the season starts. You will always suck and will never be on the same level as the Brewers! I hope you all burn in hell!  Braun is the face of the franchise and has proven the system has a side note, I also heard the rumors of herpes and maybe he got them from sharing girls with JJ Hardy!

Cubs players say they trust Braun's collector

I've heard from some people i know who work with baseball networks on tv that Braun has genital herpes and that he was using testosterone to limit the outbreak. If you look this up, this is the only way to limit it. He did not want to come out and say this, because, who would? But he is a dirtbag and all you Brewers fans, hops off his nuts before you get it too. Hes a lowlife whos trying to falsely accuse this collector and ruin his career. No other words to say but what a dirtbag. Hope Braun rots in hell.

mvc421 you are completely wrong. This was not a court of law, where you are guilty or not guilty. Braun did fail a drug test, which meant an automatic 50 game suspension. What he was appealing was the suspension. He won the appeal, but that does NOT overturn the fact that he failed a drug test. He still tested positive for that test, that part of the issue did not change. The suspension was overturned because of a chain of custody issue.

Braun's drug test showed a positive result. Whether or not that means he took PEDs is another argument. But what winning the appeal did was say that Ryan Braun will not serve a 50 days suspension for a failed drug test. It does NOT say Ryan Braun did not fail a drug test.

Cubs players say they trust Braun's collector

The guy has done over 600 samples for baseball players. He has more to lose than Braun, why would he tamper with the sample you stupid Brewers morons??? He can lose his job if he messed with the sample. And guess what the sample wasn't tampered with at all. Braun is guilty, but just because the collector held onto it one extra day they get rid of the 50 game suspension.
