Video games have gotten so good that they can make you believe anything can happen --  zombie takeover, intergalactic war, dinosaur hunting and, even more unrealistically, the Cubs winning the World Series.

Check out this new commercial from MLB 12 The Show.

Well done, Sony, well done.

What a Cubs World Series title would look like

As a Cubs fan, this commercial is downright awful. It doesn't transport me to some parallel universe where the Cubs have won a World Series recently or make me aniticipate what may happen in the future with bated breath.  Really it just makes my heart sink, and the pit in my stomach grows when I think about how far away they are from even contending. So frustrating.  I think I saw it for the first time on ESPN yesterday, but already I've started changing the channel when it comes on.

sweetlou19 says:
Cubs World Series ring would equal: MASS DESTRUCTION! And a lot of heart attacks on the South Side!

I'm sorry but like Bearish said, the "race" is over and has been for while, the White Sox won.

What a Cubs World Series title would look like

I'm a White Sox fan, and first I want to say this is a very well done commercial. Next, I would be OK with the Cubs winning a World Series. I doubt it will be happening soon, but it could happen.

I suppose if I had my way, I would like the Sox to win another world series before the Cubs win one. Although one could argue the Sox have won two world series (1917 and 2005) since the Cubs last won one in 1908. But I would like to see another Sox world series win before the Cubs even make it there. Obviously that won't happen anytime soon either.

Then again, one good thing about a Cub world series win, is that it would force the hand of the Sox a little more, to get a better team themselves. All in all, I have been a Sox fan for 50 years now, and I should be grateful to see them win one world series. The Angels and Giants have only won one in that time span, and a bunch of teams besides the Cubs have won none. Then again, the Marlins have won two. I love baseball lol.

LOL Those loveable losers. Fantasy land is the

only place they'll be winning a World Series anytime soon.

Missing one key component of a Cubs win....."Go Cubs Go,"  it would be played non-stop for days.  I'm a White Sox fan and noticed that.
