Yankees' Robertson has more tests on foot

David RobertsonBy C. Trent Rosecrans

Earlier Thursday, Yankees reliever David Robertson's injury was something to laugh at -- he fell down a flight of stairs while moving boxes at his spring training home. Even Robertson got a good laugh.

Yankees manager Joe Girardi wasn't laughing Thursday night after an MRI showed "cause for concern" on the right midfoot of his right-handed set-up man.

Girardi told reporters, including, that Robertson returned to a Tampa hospital for more tests on Thursday. Girardi was scheduled to have a CT scan and a weight-bearing X-ray taken on his foot.

The team's doctor will review the tests and consult with a foot specialist, before reporting to the Yankees on Friday.

Yankees' Robertson has more tests on foot

Yeah that crappy rotation and bullpen Cashman put together last year was only the 5Th best in baseball

I am sorry to disagree with a Superstar but if you recalled there were a lot of question marks regarding the starting staff when the season began.  We got lucky with two free agents Garcia and Colon

I agree with you that if Phil had been healthy we would have been much better in the post season.

I hope you agree that Chavez is an injury waiting to happening.    &

Yeah that crappy rotation and bullpen Cashman put together last year was only the 5th best in baseball.  The Yankees won 97 games as well.  Wonder what would have happened had Phil Hughes had been healthier...28 titles!  Robertson definitely doesn't need to rush back.  Got plenty of time and he is a very integreal part of the Yankee pitching staff with 100ks in a little over 60 innings pitched.  Sorry but the Yankees will still strike fear and dominate their opponents in 2012 as well.  They had added pitching depth and have a better DH plan this year.  Branyan and Ibanez much better than Andruw Jones and Eric Chavez.  Chavez has an upside in the fact that he can play 3rd and 1b and does have some pop in the bat but injuries last year and the last 5 years make him suspect.  If Chavez stays healthy, he's a great glove and an experienced pro.  With Burnett gone I do look for the Yankees to win more regardless of who takes his spot and the Yankee team will be more relaxed after spotting whoever to an 8 run lead in the 4th inning with their current SP and RP staff.

Hope the Yanks don't rush the kid back like they did with Wang.  Mr. Cashman admitted in CT during a speaking engagement that the Yanks rushed Wang back before his leg was healed and that Wang changed his motion and that caused his shoulder injury which ruined his career.

I had always liked that the Yanks signed Sori last year. The ownership knew that the starting staff that Mr. Cashman had put togehter had more potential holes than Swiss Cheese.   It was CC and five blind mice.  Garcia, AJ, Colon, Nova and could Hughes still pitch after all of those innings the year before.  Ownership knew it may need a lock down bull pen and Sori would give that to them.  Also Sori would give them an insurance policy if father time had finally paid Mo a visit

Unforutnaly Sori had arm troubles last year and we really never got to see the real Sori.  Having Sori this year in camp could be a big plus now that Robertson may be out.
