Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow already has the NFL’s best-selling jersey. Add a Nike shoe deal to his list of merchandise riches. Nike has unveiled a new Florida-themed limited edition Tebow shoe that is not yet for sale. Also, this week, EA Sports will unveil the NCAA 11 video game with Tebow on the cover.

maglite...you're spot-on, it's all about attendance.  I'm not sure Denver will be any better on the field this year...in actuality, probably a little slower start to the seaon and a few more losses.

Alright, here's my take (for what it's worth).
1)  Fans want a hero in Denver
2)  There could be worse choices to have on your team (Phillips from Nebraska or the kid Dallas just drafted...he's going to be an issue, in my humble opinion).
3)  Involved in the community and that's good for the NFL, roncos, and the community at-large.
4)  Has heart and a self-professed morale value system and he's not afraid to share it.  In today's environment, that's a huge compliment
5)  Has National Championships and a Hesiman...he was a winner at the college-level, but that doesn't translate to the bigs
6)  Proved himself a leader
7)  Passionate about the game
8)  Average skills and size...can punt, pass and kick (that was a skills competition when I was a kid)
9)  Is selling Jerseys and shoes.  Parents and Grandparents, don't mind having their kids look-up to professional sport's figure that's concerned about how they impact thier fans
10)  Daniels could use some "feel good" stories to help him after the "crash and burn" in the second half of the season

...there's a few more minor positives here (as well as the negatives pointed out in several of these articles) but the PR upside is favorable.  Having folks in the stands is paramount and for some (owners) that's all it's about.

Tim Tebow= butts in seats. And that about wraps it up. Career-wise, he'll be lucky to end up as Mike Vick minus the defective mentality and the arm strength. Not killing dogs will be a plus, but it won't help when he makes Kyle Orton's arm look like Jay Cutler's. Mark my words, in three years, Orton will be wiping his sedentary backside with Tebow's jersey.

I have never been a fan of the Florida Gators, but Tebow has shown a tremendous heart and love for the gam. Add to that what appears to be a high football IQ, and a work ethic, if given a chance he might be a pleasant surprise. If he plays much this year it would be in a wildcat type offense using his athletic abilities, maybe not his QB ability. He played a role in Florida and excelled at it. As long as he gets solid, quality coaching, he appears to have the deisre to learn and that could make him an impact player. Does he deserve the hype? He was a 1st round draft pick & they always get hype. a two time national champion and a Heisman winner, they will get hype. His beliefs and wthics might earn him some detractors, but he has the integrity to not hide what he feels.

Could he be a bust? Yes, unless he can change his passing mechanics, he will not be a success as a QB in the NFL.

However, from what has been said and written about him, he is actually humble enough to know he must change to keep his dream of playing in the NFL alive. As long as he doen't let the hype & fame get to him, he has a shot at being a special player.

I just want him to get the cahnce and succeed or fail on the field. It could be fun to watch

simple, tebow is truly invested.  you are right, he may or may not make it as a nfl qb--time will tell.  the reality is that there have been more higher rated qb's that didn't have the work ethic that tebow has nor did they have the ethic qualities that make him special.  incredibly crazy in todays world of me, me, me athletes.  he will work the hardest to be the best that he can be, you can bank on that.  how many of these pampered and entitled athletes grab the money and the sales and do nothing?  too many.  i am not saying that tebow is perfect, he is a smart young man, an extremely hard worker, has great people skills and has the desire to be a quality qb in the nfl.  i personally would not sell him short.  he is a great motivator as well as a winner.  stayed tuned, obviously we will all see how it unfolds but the kid is QUALITY and in today's sport society, quality is a missing ingredient.  good luck tim and go gators.

WOW

Speechless. I just don't get it. Sure, the kid was a good QB at Florida. He won a lot, got a couple national titles and a Hiesman. But what is with everyone's fascination with this guy? He's gonna be the backup Fullback for the Broncos next year, but he's leading the league in jersey sales and now has his own shoe?

CAn someone please make a convincing argument for this kid deserving so much attention? I am a big broncos fans, but I still can't justify taking him in the first round, after months of rationalizing. I must be missing something.

Someone, enlighten me, please?
