Pro Football Talk reports that Bengals RB Cedric Benson is slated to meet with commissioner Roger Goodell on Thursday.
Benson, you’ll recall, was arrested last month and was charged with assault after an incident at a bar in his hometown of Austin, Texas in May. Benson’s attorney, David Cornwell, later said that Benson was the one who was attacked at the bar. Benson obviously hasn’t been convicted of anything, but that might not matter in Goodell’s eyes.
From Mike Florio’s article: “It’s possible that the league office regards Benson as a repeat offender under the Personal Conduct Policy, even though two prior arrests (drunk driving, drunk boating) resulted in no conviction or guilty plea.”
