The Giants have signed OL Shawn Andrews, and it’s a fairly intriguing transaction.

As Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN New York wonders, what does this say about that status of guards Chris Snee and Rich Seubert?

Andrews made the Pro Bowl in 2006 and 2007, but he’s since suffered from depression and other injuries. He hasn’t played in two years, but apparently, New York feels he can possibly contribute.

“Our personnel staff has been monitoring Shawn's progress for a while now," general manager Jerry Reese said a statement. "He looks great and had a very good workout for us yesterday. He can play both guard and both tackle positions. We just have to take him slow for the rest of the preseason to get him into game shape. Shawn is very excited and grateful for this opportunity to play for the New York Giants."
