On the heels of the news that Browns NT Shaun Rogers won’t face a suspension, Saints DL coach Travis Jones will be harshly punished for his role in a real estate scheme that affected more than 40 people in Texas, costing them millions of dollars while making him more than $85,000.

So writes the New Orleans Times Picayune , which quotes GM Mickey Loomis as saying that Jones is cooperating with federal agents and will participate in a program that will educate others in the NFL about his experience.

In case you forgot what happened, the Associated Press has a good recap of the crime Jones committed (Jones, for the record, already has pleaded guilty).

Travis Jones is a hand-picked Saban boy, so you know he knows football, but like other Saban boys, has serious, serious character issues.  But I dislike the Saints keeping this guy.  He is scum, and like Big Ben, should be in jail, not suspended from the football field.  These things happen all the time in heavily red Texas.  The consumer has zero protections, and comapnies fear no litigation as Texas hates the common man.  The fact that this happened in Texas is the onlyreason he isn't in jail.  Very strange that a state as large as Texas hates its own citizens that much to offer them zero protection. God help you if you run into malpractice in Texas, because they will simply send you a bill and laugh.  I wish we give the whoel waseland back to Mexico from whence it was stolen by settlers, who after being invited in to settle, decided they hated the fact that they couldn't get divorced.  So how do they handle it?  The start stringing up every native in site, and now call the original owners "illegal aliens"  The taliban couldn't have scripted a better take-over.
