Okay, it's only a report technically, since the public feelings expressed by the Jets have all been pretty positive, but apparently Braylon Edwards' teammates are pretty cheesed at him.

Which is mildly understandable, obviously.

The New York Post reports that one teammate called Edwards "selfish." The paper also offered up some pretty specific quotes from an unnamed player.

"This is the last thing we need right now," one Jets player told The Post. "We have a big game against Miami this week, don't we? We should be concentrating on Miami Dolphins, not answering questions about [Edwards' arrest]. This is an unnecessary distraction."

"He's got to know better than this," the player said. "There's a program in place for this. Every player knows about it so there's no excuse for something like this to happen."

The Jets are absolutely correct to be angry at Edwards for this mess. Drunk driving isn't acceptable in the first place, but hopping into a car in a city that features more taxicabs than the population of most other urban areas and cruising around with a blood-alcohol level that's twice the legal limit when your team offers a taxi service to its players is just way beyond irresponsible.

The team has taxis at the ready for players at no cost, and they still do crap like this. You get what you put in

Yes he should not have been silly enough to drive drunk(especially 2 times the legal limit) but I am not going to get on a high horse like most of you people on here.... I am 38 years old now and I know in my mid 20's there was plenty of times I drove when I probably shouldn't have either... It wasn't right for me to do it either but at that age you think you are invincible.... Again, not right, but I can't rip someone for something I did...

My guess is that many of you taking shots at him, have done the same thing at some time in your life as well... The fact that he makes a lot of money doesn't make him doing worst than anyone else... Would it be not an issue if he was a carpenter or a garbage man?? Driving drunk is driving drunk... Whether you have the money or not, you shouldn't be doing it....

That's what alcohol does, it impairs you...  He probably thought he was fine and could drive home.... From what was reported he wasn't pulled over for his driving... It wasn't his driving that did him in, it was his darkly tinted windows....

It really is amazing what these jag offs continue to do.  Is it a rule or something that wide receivers have to be complete morons?  Makes you miss Jerry Rice, Chris Carter, etc.  I know there are good ones now, but these idiots sure seem to stand out.

Plus, to think these filthy rich spoiled morons can just pick up their 800 hundred dollar phones and bingo, they get picked up and driven home, car brought to them, no questions asked, and can't even manage that.

And to the idiot that said "he wasn't thinking straight because he was drunk", well, you're an idiot.  He also had three other guys there and someone should have figured it out.

If they let him play this weekend the Jets are sending out a message, loud and clear that they don't care what their players do.

I dont get why these idiots are out at 530 am during the season....dont they have practice? even if they dont shouldnt he act like a pro and realize that most people would give their left nut to make millions playing a freaking game and not act like high school kids. Id kick his butt off the team just for principle

They say this now but we all know that Rex Ryan has zero morals.  Braylon Edwards will sit maybe 1 series.  The Jets are the worst team in the league with the fattest P.O.S coach ever.  Hopefully Revis dies.

Take the football out of his hands..what to you got? A ghetto bum. He did this back in Detroit, while in high school and in college, fleeing-eluding Detroit police, marijane with boys and assault on a girlfreind. All documented incidents in the Detroit News and Free Press. Remember Gholston is also from Detroit and for heaven sakes his dad is a Detroit cop. Outstanding citizen and career here. Hope he isnt going down the tubes also, like his buddy Braylon.

@LilSalty2020

That is honestly one of the stupidest posts I've ever read.  You really think drunk driving is completely and totally acceptable and not deserving of criticism?

if the Bengals sat players every time they got arrested, only the kicker, the third string QB, and the coach would show up.let's keep it fair and balanced people!

"The Jets are absolutely correct to be angry at Edwards for this mess" and yet you can still count on them letting him play, because the Jets value wins over character.
