NFL Trade Deadline: 'Skins lower price for Albert

The Washington Redskins don't think that they'll be able to find a trading parter open to giving up a hefty price for Albert Haynesworth by the time the trade deadline passes at 4:00 PM EST on Tuesday.

But that's not going to stop them from continuing to shop him, possibly at a discount, according to the NFL Network's Jason La Canfora.

Reportedly, the Redskins want a second round draft pick in exchange for the defensive lineman, but "the price could be dropping" according to La Canfora's sources.

Any drop in price symbolizes two things. First, the Redskins are pretty intent on moving Haynesworth if they can, duh.

And secondly, it's become pretty transparent to everyone else in the league that Washington will get rid of Haynesworth at some point and they're not so desperate to acquire the talented defensive tackle for the remainder of the season that they'll mortgage the future.

Other names of note from the trade deadline and the possibility of them getting moved:
  • DeAngelo Williams, Jonathan Stewart and Steve Smith of the Panthers aren't going anywhere.
  • Vincent Jackson and Logan Mankins are disgruntled RFA guys, but seem unlikely to get moved at this point.
  • Willis McGahee's name is being bandied about for RB-needy teams like the Packers. But if they weren't willing to pay a reasonable market rate for Marshawn Lynch, will they really cough up for McGahee? Plus, Baltimore might not even want to move him.
  • Everyone on the Raiders, you may recall, is available. But they're clearly tainted, so they'll probably stay put.

The Bears shoud get this fat ass and use him on the OL ANYWHERE. He's wide as hell and can do no worse than what they've already got posing as NFL offensive linemen.

Do the Bears even have a 3rd rounder to trade? Or did they already give it away for Cutler and that dead guy?

Haynesworthless is already too deep into Dan Snyder's pockets so it doesn't really matter if he stays or goes. It was an outrageous deal from the get go.So I'd say unless the 'Skins get exactly what they want for him - just make him show up for practice everyday and let him stand on the sidelines. Then make him inactive on game days.

If he isn't traded this year, which I doubt, I can see him getting cut next year. He will then get a pittance for what he could still be getting if he wasn't such a POS. At this point, I think Shanny would give him away. I think Bruce Allen will hold on to him for the remainder of the season because he isn't worth anymore than a 3-4th round pick and no one wants to inherit that contract.

i'd be interested to know what the price tag for Albert is now...if it really has dropped, some teams that need interior defensive line help (The Colts?) should take a look....

I don't see that happening though just based on his documented attitude problems, work ethic, etc.
