On Sunday night, a curious decision to overturn Visanthe Shiancoe's 17-yard touchdown from Brett Favre midway through the second half, following a Mike McCarthy challenge, cost the Vikings four points and theoretically the game.

The NFL admitted on Monday that overturning the touchdown call was the incorrect move.

Brad Childress, who called the game the "worst officiated" he's "seen in a while" afterwards, told reporters that the NFL informed him the replay call was incorrect and that Carl Johnson, the head of officiating, was "disappointed" that the replay decision was made.

It was pretty clearly a catch, too -- though the ball did make contact with the ground as Shiancoe dove into the end zone, he had possession throughout the entirety of the catch. Unfortunately, the NFL can't retroactively give the Vikings an additional four points, so they remain stuck at 2-5 with a superstar quarterback limping around in an ankle brace as they get ready for a trip to New England.

I noticed all these things, too.  Why doesn't the NFL/Refs?  They all make the big bucks, and screw up.

The problem with that is that it was a 4 point swing in last nights game meaning it would have ended tied if all else stayed the same. The Bears-Lions game while that Johnson TD was a TD in everyone's eyes but bears fans, who's to say that Chicago wouldn't have come back and scored. Trying to rectify these mistakes by restroactively giving points unfortunately isn't going to fix the underlying issue of bad refs that most likely have been told who should win certain games by the NFL anyway.

People can knock the WWE, but at least they don't pretend to be real.

I wondering is Childress is going to apologize to Brett after throwing him under the bullet train. At worst, the Vikings would have taken the game into OT. Brett On the other hand, if Brett's ankle is shot, Minnesota can kiss their season goodbye.  The Vikings got jobbed, Brad. Welcome to the NFL. Brett did his job on a bad ankle. Does Childress really think he was going to win with a healthy benchwarmer against the Packers at Green Bay?

NFL controls the outcome of more games than fans realize........the league is market driven........evidence........the Jets have won 2 games on late pass interference calls that were questionable against the Broncos and the Dolphins. The Steelers are awarded the football yesterday when clearly, a Dolphin player gets off the turf and hands the ref the football. Pittsburgh wins that game. This game against the Vikings and Packers was called in favor of the Packers.....clearly........remember

the tuck rule game between the Patriots and Raiders.......Raiders win that game if the correct call is made.......this will not be fixed.....it has been going on for years.......its how the NFL controls the season.

The NFL is falling apart. They are so in tune to fine players for hard hits that  they let refs screw up games week after week. That was a catch from Shiancoe in the endzone. Then on the last drive Percey Harvin made a TD catch that was over tunrned. That was the right call ,but the refs who made the TD call also missed the Defense pass interverence call.Harvin was interferred with before the ball got there. Then on second to last play of the game .It was 3 and 15.During the play Number 50 on the Packers their linebacker took off his helmet during the play on the field right infront of the ref. That is a pently. It was so bad calls in that game.Packers won because of the refs.Come on the NFL even said that was a Touch Down.Maybe the NFL should start fining refs for bad calls.Childress was right a bad officiated game by the refs.

One of the worst replay overturns ever! If anything, the replay clearly showed it was a TD catch. Someone should be fired for this one, it was that bad.

The NFL should do what the NHL does, centralize the replay calls.  Take it away from the on-field officials, clearly they are lost and need help from the head office !
