Not only does Randy Moss screw over his teammates and his coaches, but he’s also screwing over the entire industry of this country.

I kid, I kid. Well sort of.

Considering Moss has moved from New England to Minnesota to Tennessee within the past month or so, he’s left behind many unclaimed team jerseys with his name and number that were to be sold to his fans in those unfortunate cities where he no longer lives.

From ESPN’s Adam Schefter's rather interesting report:

Sporting-good retailers throughout Massachusetts and Minnesota are expected to lose hundreds of thousands of dollars on unsold Patriot and Viking Moss jerseys while Reebok already has been paid for the jerseys and Moss is assured of collecting about $500,000 worth of royalties, said an industry source well versed in the process.

Reebok now will make and ship new Moss No. 84 Titans jerseys for which the company and the wide receiver will make even more. Retailers in Massachusetts and Minneapolis can only count their losses.

Now that Moss has joined his third team of the season – and wear his third uniform of the year – he’ll make even more money from jersey sales. But if I lived in Nashville, I’d be cautious in buying the No. 84. There’s no telling how long he’ll be in town.

You can donate the Jake Plummer Jersey to a person who is in need of warmth, they could burn it and keep their family warm. I wouldn't keep a "mint" Plummer jersey in my drawer unless i was worried about needing warmth myself!

And we should care why????

With the rapid turnover of team rosters, I am certain I would never buy a jersey with a "current" player's name and number.  Other than Peyton Manning, who else is an absolute lock to remain with the team that they currently play with?

I have a tough time being sympathetic to the retailers who know the risk of printing these jersey's.  There is an obvious risk and they lost.

Suck it up.... and on to the next risk fellas.....  I am certain the retailers won't go hungry or homeles.

This happens all the time, but never twice in one season. I remember when Jake Plummer went from AZ to Denver a couple months after I had just visited AZ and bought one of his jerseys. I was so disappointed, but still to this day that jersey is still in mint condition in my drawer. What about us the consumers who get screwed out of jerseys every single year. At least these big companies can donate them to some country that doesnt have any shirts and take a write off. I know we cant write off a plummer or bledsoe jersey.Wink

I'm sure before the season started Randy Moss wondered, "How can I screw over sports retail stores just for fun.  I KNOW!  I'll get traded twice!"  Wow, what a jerk.

Boo hoo for the retailers! I guess Champ Sports or the Finish Line will be going out of business now. WTF? Like this has never happened before. If you bought any of those jersey's you got yourself a lemon anyways!
