Not only does Randy Moss screw over his teammates and his coaches, but he’s also screwing over the entire industry of this country.
I kid, I kid. Well sort of.
Considering Moss has moved from New England to Minnesota to Tennessee within the past month or so, he’s left behind many unclaimed team jerseys with his name and number that were to be sold to his fans in those unfortunate cities where he no longer lives.
From ESPN’s Adam Schefter's rather interesting report:
Sporting-good retailers throughout Massachusetts and Minnesota are expected to lose hundreds of thousands of dollars on unsold Patriot and Viking Moss jerseys while Reebok already has been paid for the jerseys and Moss is assured of collecting about $500,000 worth of royalties, said an industry source well versed in the process.
Reebok now will make and ship new Moss No. 84 Titans jerseys for which the company and the wide receiver will make even more. Retailers in Massachusetts and Minneapolis can only count their losses.
Now that Moss has joined his third team of the season – and wear his third uniform of the year – he’ll make even more money from jersey sales. But if I lived in Nashville, I’d be cautious in buying the No. 84. There’s no telling how long he’ll be in town.
