Lost in the shuffle of what turned out to be a dominant Patriots performance against the Jets on Monday Night Football, newly-fired Broncos coach Josh McDaniels released a statement in response to the pink-slipping he received from Denver owner Pat Bowlen.
“I am very grateful to Pat Bowlen and the Broncos’ organization for giving me the opportunity to be the head coach of such a proud franchise,” McDnaniels said. “I would like to thank all of the people who helped us over the last two years. I am especially appreciative of the efforts of every player, coach and member of the personnel department who worked so hard every day. I wish Pat Bowlen and the Broncos’ organization nothing but the best in the future.”
Nothing especially newsworthy, but it’s worth noting that, despite all the good feelings Broncos fans might have after McDaniels was let go (though it’s not like the organization looks any better today than it did this time yesterday), a hard-working man lost his job and, for the time being, his career. Nothing celebratory in that fact.

McDaniels thanks organization in statementJosh Katzowitz, Shut up you little girl. Coaches are hired to be fired. Poor Josh McDaniels is in trouble. He has only earned 5 million for the past 2 years and is owed 7 million more under his contract. When their are millions of Americans really out of work and having trouble paying bills, monkeys like you need to shut up about 'nothing celebratory here' when it comes to a multi-millionaire coach who wouldn't actually have to work another day in his life if he didn't want to. |
