Brady: 'We don't take weeks off,' Welker to play

Feel like seeing a stereotype reinforced by public quotes? Well, as long as you think of Wes Welker, Tom Brady and the Patriots as the hard-working, blue-collar type, we've got the quotes for you.

Brady said recently when asked about taking the week off with the Patriots having already clinched homefield, and pretty much scoffed at the notion.

"We don't take days off. We don't take weeks off," Brady said.

Obviously, he plans to play against the Dolphins (think about three-and-a-half quarters maybe). And so does Wes Welker, even though last year at this time, he suffered a torn ACL and MCL against Houston during last year's "meaningless" regular season finale against Houston.

"Not at all," Welker said when asked if last year's injury changed his outlook for this season's ending. "I’m here to play football and that’s what I prepare to do every single week," Welker said. "That’s my game plan going into this week."

Now, maybe UGGs and California-living have changed the blue-collar image of Brady, but it's hard to argue that the Pats' overall image has been altered, and these quotes from the team's two biggest stars illustrate exactly what you'd expect.

So don't be surprised when Bill Belichick's squad takes the field for most of the game against the Dolphins -- it would fit with what he does philosophically and, needless to say, he's had a little bit of success thus far in his tenure with New England.

And that's why they kick everyone's $%#$#! Remeber Payton last year about to cry when the 13-0 Colts sat him with a couple of games to go. Why shift gears with your superstars at the end of the season. Well, It worked for the Colts, They won the.... Wait, It didn't work. Has any team actually won the SB after taking the extra reg. season games off? And who started that crap anyway? Take the preseason off, It worked for Favre....Wait, no it didn't. Players should play to win not rest. I would feel ripped off as a season ticket holder.

I would expect the starters to play at least a half.  It's not every day you get to warm up for the playoffs against one of the best D's in the league, 3rd to be exact.  There is only one D in the playoffs that they could possibly face that's better and thats Pitt.  Getting the practice heading into the Playoffs makes alot of sense.  I would strongly doubt the Pat's put up 40, probably more like 20 - 28

Miami will be lucky if the Pats don't score over 40 on them? Everyone hates a winner
