Adams meeting with Fisher Monday to decide fate

"Black Monday" inspires plenty of fear in NFL coaches who didn't make the playoffs. And although you can't imagine Jeff Fisher of the Titans is "scared," there's certainly reason for him to be concerned with his job security.

That's because Fisher will, according to a report from FOX Sports' Jay Glazer, meet with owner Bud Adams and other senior officials of the Titans organization to discuss Fisher's future with the team.

RELATED: COACHING HOT SEAT TRACKER

Fisher is the longest-tenured coach in the NFL right now, and the only coach in Titans history, but there are plenty of people who believe he'll be gone from Tennessee next season. That's primarily because Adams remains so infatuated with Vince Young that he's willing to overlook just how little the former Texas star has progressed (both on- and off the field) since being drafted in the first round by Tennessee.

Adams said earlier this year that he expected Fisher and Young to work things out, but given the things that Fisher's said publicly about Young since the quarterback walked out on the locker room, that seems pretty unlikely.

If Fisher were to become a coaching free agent, it seems logical that he'd be sought-after, although coaching jobs appear to be filling up a little more quickly than they did a few weeks ago.

Then again, it wasn't too long ago that the Titans looked like one of the best teams in the NFL, so it's worth noting that things change quickly.

Adams meeting with Fisher Monday to decide fate

It appears now that Bud isn't quite as senile as some VY lovers suspect. He performed surgury to the locker room cancer and it appears the Moustache man will get to stay( at least for a little while). Vince was a pretty fair QB going 30-17 in his career and that would have been impressive if his record against teams with better than a .500 record wasn't a lowly 13-14.  You can't get to the Superbowl by just beating the bottom rung teams. You have to beat the top dogs as well.
Well, maybe now the Titans can get Locker or another Pro-style Qb to come in and run this Titans ground oreinted syle game with a real threat of a REAL passing game to support it.  Cam Newton would be great to watch too, but long gone before the Titans get to pick.

I have always liked the Titans.  Those McNair teams were tough as nails, mirrored their QB, and played hard from opening kick off to the final gun.  Maybe b/c of those teams I have always had a soft spot for Jeff Fisher.  Not sure if he is a great coach but he is solid and will give you far more good than bad.
Vince Young never seamed like his kind of player.  To prone to mistakes to consistently drive a team.  Add that to his unstable, being kind here, nature and he is simply not the leader of a team.  It's probably time for Fisher to leave but it would suck if it is Vince Young who drives him out the door.  The guy has not earned the right to have that kind of pull.

Adams meeting with Fisher Monday to decide fate

I have grown up and lived in Steeler country my entire life and have been a Oiler/Titan fan my entire life, if senile Adams fires Fisher for Young I will be looking for a new team. Still won't be the Steelers. Young was a horrible draft pick in the first place don't make another horrible decision by keeping this cancer around. Draft Gabbert 8th.

With the lockout possible, does anybody think Old Bud is dumb enough to fire Jeff and have to pay him and maybe another HC for a season that may or maynot be played.  I don't.  I think Bud will find away to help Jeff save face and keep him and his man crush QB at the same time. Atleast for the time being. It wouldn't break this fan's heart if Jeff did get canned, but I will be mad as hell if our prima donna QB runs off our coach and stays.

If your Fisher don't you at least consider walking away before Adams can make a decision?  What even you/anyone thinks of Fisher he has been a damn good coach from Houston/Tenn. for a long time.  Long enough that he has had to flip his roster a hand full of times and still has produced winners more often than naught.
Bud Adams man crush on Vince Young has to be insulting to Fisher and, perhaps, 16 years is enough.  Maybe the last act of dignity for him is to simply walk away.

Fir lately and its got nothing to do with Vince because if Adams was smart he would also draft a qb this year and get rid of that loser Vince too his a// he has done nothing
