Excellent question -- after all, it's Black Monday (the first Monday after the NFL season ends) and that means people are getting canned left and right. This year may be uglier than ever, so we suggest you bookmark this page and stop by as we'll update it every time there's breaking news.
THURSDAY  WEDNESDAY
  • Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross and his top men flew to California Wednesday and are reportedly prepared to make Harbaugh the highest-paid coach in the NFL.
  • 2:03 PM John Elway tells the Denver Post he will ask for permission to speak to Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams and Giants defensive coordinator Perry Fewell.
TUESDAY
  • 8:46 PM The Raiders have given the 49ers permission to speak with Oakland offensive coordinator Hue Jackson for the San Francisco head coaching job. Also, in that same post, we discover 49ers defensive coordinator Greg Manusky will interview for the Panthers head job.

Black Monday Roundup: Coaching Carousel

I must say I'm not a Broncos fan at all. But I am a football fan and David was one of the most impressive backs to watch ever. He was almost Barry sanders exciting. It's a shame about his injuries. I remember one game i watched he was hit several times and should have been down but bounced around crab walked and made a bunch of moves that were just amazing. definately not average.

Shanny is a good coach. Sometimes it's just the luck of the draw too. Seems like the Skins owe the devil or something because on paper the last several years they look great. But nobody is worried about them. They have been a step above the rams, niners, browns and lions. Barely.

I don't the coach is the problem there. It's in the water.

Terrell Davis wasn't just a 'slightly better than average' RB.  Shanahan's system might have regularly produced 1,000 yard rushers, but Davis produced 2,000 yards in the system one year, and 1,800 another.  Had he not torn up his knee, he'd be being mentioned among the all-time greats.

Firing Shannahan would be one of the best decisions Snyder could make. Never has there been a more over-rated HC.
He is a genius with a HOF QB, slightly better than average RB, and a very good OC.
Horrible without these things.

Funny how things work out.
