Marshawn made an 'interesting' gesture on TD

Seattle handed New Orleans a shocking playoff loss on Saturday afternoon and, as Andy pointed out, it could give NFL executives plenty to think about.

You know what else might give some execs something to think about? Marshawn Lynch's touchdown celebration (above, via Xmas Ape on Twitter) on Seattle's final touchdown. Admittedly, it was one of the great playoff runs in NFL history. Unfortunately, the ending was a bit less "historic," as Lynch grabbed his man regions and dove backwards into the end zone. (And why not watch the video real quick while we're here.)

Undoubtedly, the run got Lynch into Beast Mode and pretty amped up, but there's really no excuse for the lack of sportsmanship on the celebration and don't be surprised if he gets handed a fine (although he probably should have been flagged at the time anyway).

You should check out the headline pic on NFL.com...I find it interesting, and a bit humorous that they still have that pic posted on their website.

leave it to cbssportsline.com to focus on this.  No other sites are.  I guess it's what happens when you don't want to eat crow.  This site has awful reporting.  Worse than local news.  PATHETIC.

Yes it was a good run but keep in mind the Saints were just trying to strip the ball. Look again and see how they were going for a fumble or nothing. Great run and poor defense but earlier in the game or in another scenario the defense would have tackled him.

As for the celebration, totally against NFL policies and right up there with when Randy Moss did the fake moon to the Lambeau crowd. Yes he will most likely get fined for it, but as a sports fan I love seeing stuff like that. It puts a lot of flash in a big time emotional game and entertainment for people like me who were just rooting for the underdog. If i was a Saints fan it would make me a little upset but I would also be thinking that my team deserves it haha.

Marshawn made an 'interesting' gesture on TD

After watching one of the best runs this season, I doubt most viewers saw the "dastardly deed". I agree with the others that it's a bit ridiculous to single out what may or may not be a gesture to the opposition, after such a great run.  "Lack of sportsmanship"? How about Sharper celebrating every time he hurt Favre last year? Or the Packers jumping into the stands after they score...........oh that's tradition, I forgot. Our problem today is that there are so many reporting the same thing, that everyone looks for an edge. Did Tracy Porter (22) take a dive, should Lynch have been so aggressive with Porter, should Lynch have stopped at 31 yards to preserve Mack Strong's record of 32 in a playoff game, how many skittles did Lynch eat during the game and were they performance enhancing............? This is one play where everyone can report the same thing and it still remains awesome!

I would have rather seen Lynch pretending to be driving a car and running someone over.  He has that move down pat.  Maybe for effect, that someone could be a female sideline reporter.

All in all, the only thing better than that run, was Mike Mayock's play by play... awesome.
