Vikings new head coach Leslie Frazier has, as expected, told offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell and special teams coach Brian Murphy that they will not be back with the club in 2011. Frazier publicly confirmed this news on Minnesota radio station ESPN 1500.

Frazier gave some empty coach-speak in relaying the news. "One of the things I'm trying to do with all of our coaches, whether you're on the offensive side, defensive side or special teams is just look at everything with an eye towards winning a championship in Minnesota," he said.

Bevell’s value in Minnesota diminished with the closing of the Brett Favre era (the two had a good relationship; Bevell was often Favre’s go-to guy on staff during the Brad Childress drama). Most of the offensive coaching staff is being turned over. After being named head coach, Frazier almost immediately let go of quarterbacks coach Kevin Rogers, offensive line coach Pat Morris and assistant offensive line coach Jim Hueber.

Frazier is a defensive coach, so whoever he brings in as offensive coordinator will have considerable power. A name that has been floating around is former Broncos head coach and former Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels. Frazier interviewed McDaniels late last week but declined to discuss it.

I for one am very please the O-line coaches are being replaced.  That has been weak pt of the offense. I kinda wanted to see what Bevell could do out from under Chilly's controlling thumb, but welcome a newcomer to utilize their talent.

Um...I certainly hope you're joking, or at least being sarcastic, about Moss and Manning.  It's hard to tell.

Randy Moss had his best year with McDaniel as OC in NE.

It would be nice after the Vikes get Vick, to get Moss to add to Peterson, Harvin, Rice.  This time they could do it RIGHT, with a good coach, a good OC, and Moss feeling good that he is at home helping the Vikings win a SB.

I don't think Tebow will be available, but they MIGHT consider Orton.

With the Frazier connection to Indy, I would like to see the Vikes try to get Peyton Manning.

If they hire McDaniel, will a trade for Tebow be far behind? Denver might be in the mood to deal him and we all know McDaniel has a man crush on Tebow...almost as big a man crush and Childress had on Favre.
