Super Bowl tickets are high, but not THAT high

I was talking to a source the other day, and we were discussing how she’s been to 22 Super Bowls. But she’s not planning to travel to Dallas for Super Bowl XLV, and part of the reason is because the cost of a face value ticket is so damn high.

I had no idea how much it cost to get into the game – I was thinking maybe $200 – so I was rather stunned when she said she’d have to lay out $600-800 for one ticket.

CNBC’s Darren Rovell writes a little about Super Bowl tickets today, and he displays a graphic that charts the rise of Super Bowl ticket prices throughout the years.

While a ticket that only lets you into the area OUTSIDE the stadium goes for a slightly-ridiculous $200 and a standing-room only pass will cost you $350, Rovell doesn’t seem to think the rest of the costs are outrageous.

He writes, “It's interesting to see how much the price has risen in the last decade, but again, I feel like it's warranted. All tickets for Super Bowl XXVI, 20 years ago, was $240, if you factor in inflation. Now it's exactly five times as much. But it's possible that the NFL is five times as popular as it was in 1991.”

Helpful specifics, lots thanks a bunch on the way to all the founder. This is difficult if you actually, although sometimes, all the power in addition to lure definitely is mind-boggling.

$2745 is the cheapest I could find inside the stadium. Maybe face value is cheaper, but good luck finding a face value ticket.
