Chad Ochocinco is tremendously sensitive to criticism, especially if it’s by Bengals coach Marvin Lewis. You’ll recall that, a few weeks ago, Lewis called Ochocinco “mopey,” and Ochocinco is still smarting from that comment, saying Lewis cliched him (ie. threw him under the bus).

Well, Ochocinco won’t like the conversation Lewis had with the Boston Herald’s Ian Rappoport today at Senior Bowl practice.

A portion of it:

Herald: (Ochocinco) did send me a message recently about possibly playing with the Patriots. That surprised me…

Lewis: “Belichick’s smarter than that.” (Laughs)

Herald: Well, they did take Randy Moss in ‘07…

Lewis: “Yeah, and what did he do this year?”

Ouch.

In response, Ochocinco added this hash tag to his retweet: “##AssWhoopnTime.”

Lewis says Belichick is smarter than to take Chad

I don't think the patriots would take chad and would be foolish to take a guy who isn't committed to playing football anymore! Could you see Chad running the route he wants and not the one called in New England. He would be on the waiver wire by Sunday night. I think the Ocho knows he isn't going to get 6 mill or more per year on the open market, so why not suck it up one more season in Cincy! Carson is probably angry that Lewis and team management never put a stop to all of Chad's B.S. Chad has been great to the fans and better to other teams fans but we just want him to go back to being a football player! I don't know if that is going to happen though!

Marvin Lewis is not a bad coach, he's been surrounded with guys who have questionable habits on and off the field.  Palmer wants out because he knows, just like Lewis, that all managment is going to bring in are guys who have the most talent but lack the motivation to play as a team.  The Bengals have A+ talent and D- team mentalility.  The Bengals should have picked up Mike Singaltary to help shape the younger guys into better teamates.  Sure he wasn't a very good coach in San Fran, but he made better players out of Vernon Davis and Crabtree, and even though he couldn't gameplan, something Lewis is highly regarded for, he could have made better teamates out these guys.

Odd that Lewis would make such a comment.  Usually coaches/gm's stay away from that kind of negativity....no value in it.  With that said I see little chance of New England going after Ochocinco (I hate writing that name).  Wes Welker, as good a soldier as you will find in the NFL, was benched for the first series of downs against the Jets for speaking when a gag rule was put in place.  The Pats have spent the better part of a season attempting to jettison players similar to Ochocinco (Not in terms of skill level but in regards to creating football distractions).  I am fairly sure they will not look to acquire one.

Lewis says Belichick is smarter than to take Chad

Lewis has no reason to talk about his player's like that to the media.  He must just be bitter about his team sucking so bad this year.  He

can think that and he is probably right but to publicly tounge lash one of your player's makes no sense.  Fire him and start over Cincy!

What Lewis meant to say was. "I am not smart enough to let Chad go."  The Cinncinati Bungholes record speaks for itself.

Lewis says Belichick is smarter than to take Chad

Lewis is the worse coach in the NFL. I know that's just one guy's opinion but I think a lot of people are with me on this one.

You're an idiot.  You wouldn't take a reciever that still demands double coverage.  You're right, Lewis is genius in all of this, because of his outstanding record and all the players want to play on his team.  Being bitter is one thing, but thinking with your head is another.  Try the latter, it may get you farther.
