Report: Titans will try and trade Vince Young

Vince Young is as done with the Titans organization as Jeff Fisher. The only question remaining is how he exits.

It's been presumed that Tennessee will release Young. After all, he's not exactly a desirable commodity right now, even with a dearth of talented quarterbacks in the league. (And even though he's elite! Just ask him!)

However, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Titans will seek to move Young if they can. However, there are a number of problems with being able to actually get someone to bite on Young.

For starters, there's his contract -- Young's set to make $8.5 million in 2011, and that's a pretty hefty price tag for a former first-rounder who's struggled intermittently on- and off the field throughout his career.

Making matters more murky, Young's due a $4.25 million roster bonus 10 days after a new CBA is signed. This is why the Titans are seeking to trade him (it's not due in March as previously believed), but it also means Tennessee has 10 days in which to make a move to get something in return.

So what's Young worth? Maybe a fourth- or fifth-rounder, given his struggles, the amount he's owed and the fact that he'd be a free agent after the 2011 season. There are certainly QB-needy teams out there (although Minnesota is the only team that really comes to mind when thinking of a possible trade partner), but the logical ending to this relationship involves Tennessee shopping Young, finding out no one's interested and then releasing him to not much fanfare.

Al Davis is the only one senile enough to make the Trade for Vince.

If VY can grow up quickly, he has a shot. Lots of physical talent. Mediocre arm and probelms reading defenses (Titans basically had to cut the feld in half for him, thus limiting the offense), but overall physical talent is there. Problem is, he is so immature that you don't know what is going to send him into a funk and have him pouting for days. Fans booing him, coaches correcting him, teammates questioning him, his mama scolding him...whatever. He's sensitive, and you cannot be sensitive and lead an NFL team. He has to grow up...THEN he has a chance. He'll probably never be a top 10 QB, but he could be a solid starter...maybe.

Wrong, wronmg and uh.... wrong AGAIN!
Young is a headcase and someone like Mike Holmgren in Cleveland who has ALWAYS coached smart QB's - no Brett Favre jokes there! but he's always coached smart QB's who make good reads in the west coast offense.
There's NO way he's going to bring in a Vince Young who is more athletic than Colt Mc Coy but what you lose in both football smarts and everyday smarts is like night and day.
Let's also not forget that V.Y. scored one of the LOWEST scores EVER in the history of the leagues administration of the Wonderlic test.
Doesn't make him a bad guy just means that he lacks a little something upstairs, he's not the first or the last QB or player of any position in the NFL to run into that problem.
Yoiung does NOT make good reads, he's not made ANY effort to improve himself as a QB,neither has he attempted to fix his delivery, let's also not forget that he played for Jeff Fisher who has a reputation as a patient coach and a players coach both are factors working for Young but he was still UNSUCCESSFUL in Tennessee.

I also don't see him going to Carolina either because a new head coach like Ron Rivera does NOT need nor want the headaches a player like Vince Young is going to bring, if anything I could see them trying to bring in someone like Kevin Kolb or even better Carson Palmer someone they won't have to babysit.
Miami? although I am not sold on Chad Henne if I'm Tony Sparano do I REALLY want my job hinging on how Vince young does as leader of my offense? the answer to that would be a resounding NO!

Vince needs to dedicate himself to being a QB, which means film study, learning the offense backwards & forwards &  working out like a madman, this isn't high school or college where his athleticism got him by because he was so much better than everyone else and his definciencies could be covered up.
It's playing a game but it's still a JOB that you MUST take seriously to be successful otherwise you end up with what he's had thus far in his career - futility.

Report: Titans will try and trade Vince Young

I have to agree with Huachuca about the roster bonus.  In GB AJ Hawk will be cut in the offseason since he is due to make 10 million next year.  He hasn't lived up to the hype of a #5 overall pick even though he led the team in tackles this year.  Hawk is good and he's gonna get cut for contract reasons.  Lets not even consider that VY will have a chance at staying on the roster for anyone at that amount of money.  I guarantee that VY isn't as good as Hawk and you'll see this offseason when Hawk gets picked up immediately in free agency well before Young.  I just hope that GB can find a way to keep him but with the emergence finally of Bishop I don't see that happening as one of the three would be riding the bench and making a ton of money.  (Hawk, Bishop, Barnett)

Report: Titans will try and trade Vince Young

At least Vince Young had a carreer in the NFL that you can point out he did something for his team.  He salvaged a season from potentially being the worst season in history a couple years back when he took over for Collins.  Of course the Lions would have beat that the following year.  Young isn't the most ridiculous 1st round pick for that reason, but he's pretty darn close.  Young won't be able to do much in this league since he doesn't seem to want to put in the work to get better.  That's his biggest problem.  It seems that he feels he is entitled to the money and the fact that he should just be great because he thinks he's great.  The problem there is that he really isn't very good.  All of this said.  I'm still trying to figure out where in the heck you got anything that you are talking about in your statement Boomer12.  I don't see how one thing that you said correlates to anything in the article that was written.  I guess I agree with you that he doesn't need to be stupid with his money, but I just don't get where that came from.  It just seems that you don't like the guy for some reason.   GO PACK!!!

you honestly think  this dumbshit knows what saving is? he probably makes it rain with pac man in the strip club and drives cars that he makes payments on. if you make 6 million$ a year why do you have a house payment. buy a house in cash no payments. buy your cars in CASH!!!. dont need a 12 million $ house. buy a 500,000$ home and have no payments on it. its what i would do
