  • So, as it turns out, the bookies aren't so smart after all. Okay, they're smart, but they're not perfect -- having Green Bay as a 2.5-poing favorite (or 3-point fave at kickoff depending on where you went) ended up torching them, as America laid tons of money on the Packers. At one point, Jay Rood, the guy runs the MGM's sportsbook, took a call from his boss who asked "What's the worst-case scenario?" Rood answered: "It's happening."

Did you pull this info out of your backside because an hour before kickoff Green Bay had 51 pct and Pitt had 49 pct of point spread money. The money line had 72 pct on Pitt. The only thing the public was right on was having 75pct. on the over.

I don't care what happens to Vegas.  I am sure a nice portion of what they lost on the Super Bowl was once mine.

Why do so many artists/vocalists insist on changing the melody of our National Anthem?  Why does it seem they want to make it their own.  I have news for them.  The National Anthem is NOT theirs, it's ours, yours and mine.  it was written a certain way and that is exactly how it should be done every single time.  Some of these "artists" take so long to sing our Anthem that it makes you wonder if the battle at which it was written lasted as long.  Quite possibly the finest our National Anthem was ever sung was by Whitney Houston at Super Bowl XXV.  Ms. Houston performed our Anthem with the same melody it was written.  I wasn't upset Christina Aguilera messed-up a few of the lyrics.  That stuff happens.  I was upset that Ms. Aguilera seemed intent on impressing us all by showing us the high notes she can hit.  How selfish.

It tends to even out. This playoffs was one of the best playoffs for bookies in recent years. All of the favorites lost. The bookies CLEANED UP BIG TIME in the Saints game, the Colts game, and the Patriots game.
