Posted by Will BrinsonThe Jets went on a spree of cutting players Monday, releasing a number of big-name veterans. That group was thought to possibly include LaDainian Tomlinson, but it appears that Rex Ryan's crew will bring LdT back for another run in 2011.
According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, Tomlinson won't be cut by the Jets. Additionally, John Connor (aka "The Terminator") will be the starting fullback in 2011.
Tomlinson was considered a possibility to be cut because of the depth at running back with Shonn Greene and Joe McKnight.
Of course, that depth also looked great before 2010 -- were it not for Tomlinson, there's a pretty good chance the Jets wouldn't have ended up in the AFC Championship Game.
He came into New York looking rejuvenated and provided a fantastic safety net for Mark Sanchez in addition to the only decent running the Jets saw for the first three-quarters of the season.
Ryan and Mike Tannenbaum clearly believe he's got -- at least -- one more good season of football left in him to make a run at a championship.
