Patrick Peterson impresses at combine's final day

Patrick Peterson is the consensus top cornerback in the 2011 NFL Draft class, and the top-rated player on Rob Rang's big board.

He's such elite prospect that he aimed for a 4.2 40 and no one really questioned whether or not he would do it. He didn't, but that's okay -- he still ripped off two really fast runs of 4.32 and 4.37 on the final day of the combine.

Peterson also impressed with a 10'6" showing on the broad jump and a 38" vertical -- there wasn't a ton of upside to what he could do in terms of showing at the combine because of his already-high ranking, but he certainly solidified his standing as the top cornerback in this year's draft.

Peterson's position in the draft is particularly interesting, because the Panthers need help in lots of areas and the Denver just locked up stud veteran cornerback Champ Bailey for four more years, but both teams could conceivably pull trigger on a cornerback at the top of this draft.

If they don't, a cornerback-needy team with an early-round pick (San Francisco?) is going to be very pleased with their first-round haul.

For that matter, until this past season, I don't think even most Chiefs fans would be having a love affair with Bowe going in the 1st round.  He averaged almost one drop per game during his first three seasons and some of those were at the most inopportune times.  Throw in the fact that he has a 4-game suspension under his belt not to mention his mouth and attitude with coaches and teammates have been less than stellar (remember, he was demoted to 3rd string just in 2010)... well, let's just call him an "okay" or possibly "above average" pick. If he can keep his production up and his lips closed for the next couple of years, I think we will then all agree he's a "good" pick.

For that matter, I'd say, yeah, the Chiefs would probably like to have a do-over with Tyson Jackson.  They seriously reached for him, to get one sack and 17 starts in two years.  $57M has netted them 45 tackles in two seasons.  I know stats don't always tell the story for a 3-4 DE, but the fact he managed just 3 starts in the 12 games he saw the field last year would tell most people that's not what they were looking for with the 3rd pick in the draft.

Ask the Chargers if they want to get rid of Jacob Hester (3rd rounder) or Buster Davis (1st rounder).
Hester's ok for a 3rd round pick, but are you seriously asking if the Chargers would like to go back in time and pick someone other than Buster (The Bust) Davis in the first round?  Do you think they actually were looking for a guy who would only see the field 6 1/2 games a year and manage 12 catches a season?

Buster Davis = HUGE bust.

Before you come in with some pompous "Get your facts straight!!!!!!", you might want to take your own advice.

He might be a good kick returner too, but no NFL team is going to risk a shut down CB on kickoffs.
I bet that's why Deion Sanders never returned kicks.

Aldono, three of the people you mentioned are busts or very close to it: Jackson (bust), Dorsey (we'll see yet) and Buster Davis (big bust).
When I say they are busts I don't mean that they are so bad that they are going to get cut by their teams...but if you gave them a redo on those drafts I don't think that Jackson would be a top 5 guy anymore (or close) and Davis would have been drafted much later than the first round. All three are useful players, Dorsey could still be great, but none have matched expectations.
Every college has busts...I know my team has had more than their fair share of them. But Peterson shouldn't be one for LSU.
