Vikings CB Chris Cook arrested for gun

With the NFL in a lockout and the union decertified, players can run amuck. there is no personal conduct policy at this moment, and no means of enforcing one anyway.

Congratulations to Vikings cornerback Chris Cook – he’s the first player to take advantage of the free pass. The second-year pro was arrested in his hometown of Lynchburg, VA for brandishing a handgun during a fight. reports that Cook was arrested shortly after 5:30 p.m. Saturday evening.

It’s possible that the NFL and players could decide in the next labor deal that the personal conduct policy applies even during the lockout (it would be retroactively enforced). Cook would be wise to resolve the issue quickly. (Or just not get in fights in the first place.)

Just more bad news but I'm already jaded. It's been 40 years I've rooted for this cursed team and I've about had it. Nothing but bad ever happens to the Vikings. They're never going to win anything more than a Division championship at the most. I hope they move to LA and change their name to the Sunshine or something stupid like that, so I can finally forget about them.

As stupid as some of these athelets are, maybe they should join the local Rod and Gun club.  Shoot skeet or trap shoot, work out there aggressiveness in a fun way.  It doesn't have anything to do with making too much money, because I'm poor and I can afford a gun.  It's all about attitude and the stupidity that follows with it!

I'm getting fed up with overpaid athletes that instead of appreciating what they have and how fortunate they are in life constantly break the law.    This 24 year old punk picked up a signing bonus last year of 2.3 million dollars to play football for all of 21 weeks including the pre-season and their bye week.  Other then that, he works out for a living and makes more money then most of us will ever dream of.  Bugs the hell out of me because people like this punk deserve nothing.  Pulls out a gun during a fight? What is this, the wild wild west???
To put things into perspective and the 2.3 million dollars this moron cashed in last year a 24 years old, here's a stat for you.  The median HOUSEHOLD income in Minnesota in 2009 was just over 57 thousand dollars.   The MEDIAN.... that number says it all.... it'll take a family grossing 57 thousand dollars per year 40 years of working full time to gross 2.3 million dollars......
It's unfair to say the least...... and insulting to the fans that spend money on NFL tickets and turn on their tv's religiously every Sunday...

Thanks Tomcat for your honesty about your Vikings.  The fans will pay for the litigation, the contracts, the raises, the stadiums, and the grief of supporting too many sleazy, gun-brandishing, skirt-chasing, police-evading jerks whom we call Sunday's Heroes.  And civilization crumbles, crumbles, crumbles...
