NFL Films President Steve Sabol was recently hospitalized after suffering a seizure while in Kansas City at an awards show. Initially, it appeared that the prognosis was good for Sabol, 68, as he was upgraded to "stable" condition. However, the NFL reported on Friday the news that Sabol is undergoing treatment for a brain tumor.

"(Steve) will begin treatments soon," a statement from NFL Films said. "Steve is in good spirits and is deeply appreciative of everyone's good wishes."

Extensive tests following Sabol's hospitalization led to the discovery of the tumor, and Sabol is expected to undergo chemotherapy and radiation treatment soon.

The news is obviously gut-wrenching, especially as it comes on the heels of a joyous moment for the Sabol family, when Steve's father Ed was named a member of the 2011 NFL Hall of Fame class.

Steve. Our prayers go out to you and your family, at this time in your life . It won't be east going through this but you must keep a positive fram of mind moveing forward in your recovery. A good book to read (Yankee for life ) about Bobby Murcer by Glen Waggoner. Bobby found out he had brain cancer on christmass eve. The book tells about his baseball life but it also tells of how he handled the cancer too. good luck Steve.  Jim and Linda Countey in Deptford New Jersey

Steve Sabol undergoing treatment for brain tumor

My grandmother died of a brain tumor at 84...never drove a car in her life and the only electronics she was ever around was a television, clock radio, and cordless phone....everything gives you cancer if you believe the media...simple fact is, many of those correlations are loose and baseless and like most things out of US media outlets, alert you only to dupe you into watching their progamming.  I doubt the equipment has anything to do with this man's misfortune...I wish him the best.
