Dez Bryant allegedly didn't pull up his pants

Since the CBA expired earlier this month, a handful of NFL players have not gone out of their way to stay out of trouble.* Isn’t that right, Raiders OT Mario Henderson, Vikings CB Chris Cook, Cowboys CB Bryan McCann and Patriots S Brandon Meriweather (all of whom have been arrested this month)?
Arrested development

*Whether the NFL’s conduct policy applies to them in the event of a lockout is unclear. Even for commissioner Roger Goodell, apparently.

While Cowboys WR Dez Bryant was not arrested Saturday for alleged criminal trespass at the NorthPark Center mall in Dallas, two off-duty police officers gave him a warning and told him he can’t return to the mall for three months or he’ll be subject to arrest.

This, according to, which reports that Bryant – who apparently has a history of disturbances at that mall – and his associates were asked to leave after they refused to raise pants that were exposing their underwear.

Bryant was quoted as saying, “What the [expletive] are you stopping me, like I stole something.”

Give me a second: I’m trying to think of a more ridiculous reason to be given a warning at a mall that could lead to your arrest, but I’m having a difficult time of it.

UPDATED (7:45 p.m.): Josina Anderson spoke with Bryant's advisor, David Wells. Here's what he had to say:

"I was an actual witness to the fact that there was no citation or verbal warning issued to Dez Bryant at NorthPark on Saturday in my presence. Furthermore, Dez was not one of the guys wearing his pants low."

UPDATED (7:48 p.m.): ESPN Dallas' Calvin Watkins spoke with Bryant, and Bryant said his pants were up, he's not banned from the mall and it was just a big misunderstanding.

That's what we need a personal conduct policy for the fiends of NFL players.  I'm a middle aged white boy that keeps his pants up but I don't understand how this is a story, it sounds like Bryant did nothing wrong.  However I do believe he should be hanging out with big boys and girls that keep thier pants up.  I would like to hear from someone that wears their "pants on the ground" as to why they do.

wow. this is why they need a conduct policy. because most of these players dont know how to go out in public and act properly.
Yeah?  Well we have school so people will learn how to read but apparently you forgot to do that before commenting.  There also IS an NFL Personal Conduct Policy.  Players have been suspended by it for as long as I can remember.  Having rules in place doesn't mean people are going to follow them.

I don't know what's more disgusting, how badly people want to crucify this kid without him actually doing anything remotely significant, or the fact that someone actually took time out of their day to write this article.  There isn't a single fact in the entire article.  A bunch of "guard said, Dez/Agent said."

Honestly I'm just glad he's walking.  Cool

First, who cares.

Second, if Bryant is actually spending a lot of time hanging out at a mall, then that is hilarious (and a bit disturbing).  Time to leave high school, Dez.

>>>the guy didnt pull up his pants.... come one who cares.

There's a reason underwear is called underwear - because its supposed to be worn under trousers that cover both your junk and your buttocks. In a mall with little kids all around, I don't think it's too much to ask that people pull up their damn pants so they can look halfway intelligent.

Now if he wants to play football in just his underwear and singlet, I wouldn't mind watching that.

Just how old is Bryant? And why is he acting like a kid?  I guess if his name was printed on his underwear, he wouldn't have to identify himself.  LaughingWink
