Sanchez is throwing, thinks lockout helps Jets

The lockout's not good for anyone from the perspective of wanting to see football, but it's certainly more advantageous for particular teams.

Like, say, the New York Jets, who, according to quarterback Mark Sanchez, might benefit from certain portions of the work stoppage. Our own Jets Rapid Reporter Lisa Zimmerman caught up with Sanchez at the 2011 World Police and Fire Games Gala in New York, and he sounded as optimistic as one can be about no football being played.

"It's going to be tougher for [free agents] to go somewhere else; they just won't have time to negotiate with other teams," Sanchez told Zimmerman.

Sanchez also said that he'd be getting his wide receivers together during the offseason -- meaning he's throwing now apparently? -- in order to get some informal practices going.

"If those are the only workouts until training camp, we might as well do as many as we can," he said.

Sanchez is probably "correct" on both counts. First, the lockout seems likely to cruise long enough that the Jets can bring back their key free agents without them testing the waters too much.

And, secondly, if the lockout does last long enough for Sanchez and his receivers to need some informal workout sessions, it seems pretty likely that guys who are free agents (Santonio Holmes, Braylon Edwards) could end up coming too. And if that's the case, they seem even more likely to end up with New York when football's played again in 2011.

Oh yes, and it would appear that Sanchez is throwing again, despite his shoulder injury, which may be the best news of all for the Jets.

Anyone have a small number of exceptional plans on that point. Used to do each studies higher than the problems or discovered nearly all folks could very well agree with the fact using the writing a blog website page.

I have to admit, when I read the headline, i thought, "what the hell is the kid talking about?" Then i read the story, and he makes a lot of sense. More importantly, he continues to show leadership by planning gatherings of the offensive guys for workouts and such. I definitely gain more and more respect for Mark as times goes on.

I can't stand this guy. I was really wishing that his arm was hurt beyond repair and his career was over. The media is at fault here for playing up the Jets and Mark Sanchez. I can't tell if it's NYC and New York will always get more coverage than any other market, but the amount the Sanchez gets for doing nothing in the NFL is amazing. Could it be because he is the only Mexican player in NFL history ( IDK ) and they want more Mexican people to spend drug cartel money on the jersey's, tickets? Maybe. Anyways, STOP talking about this loser. He is not cool or special in any way.
