Steelers shouldn't hold out hope for Mike Pouncey

M. Pouncey probably will not play with his brother, Maurkice, in Pittsburgh (US Presswire). Posted by Josh Katzowitz

Some have speculated that the Steelers, who already have C Maurkice Pouncey anchoring the offensive line, could take Florida OL Mike Pouncey in this year’s NFL draft (and I think that would be a pretty cool move, along the same lines of QB Jordan Palmer backing up his brother Carson in Cincinnati).

But Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette isn’t holding his breath. In part, you can blame Maurkice for that.

Since Maurkice Pouncey had such a well-regarded rookie season for the Super Bowl runners-up, making the Pro Bowl, that success helps shine a spotlight on his twin brother.

Since the Steelers don’t have their first pick until No. 31 and since Mike Pouncey - who Rob Rang and Chad Reuter both have going to Seattle with the No. 25 pick in their latest mock draft - has risen from a late first-round or early second-round pick to a mid-first round selection, he probably won’t be around for Pittsburgh to take.

Bouchette asked Steelers director of football operations Kevin Colbert if the two brothers were clones. “Identical twins,” Colbert said. And their performance on the field? Colbert smiled and said, “Identical twins.”

Unfortunately for fans of twin brothers playing on the same NFL team, it sounds like the Pouncey brothers won’t fulfill that hope.

Steelers shouldn't hold out hope for Mike Pouncey

So, your beloved Jets were beat down by a bunch of girls in the AFC championship game?

Face the facts the jets and Rex Ryan have accomplished nothing but running their mouths about being the best team in the AFC and haven't proven a thing.  How long is it going to take the media in NY to turn on the load mouth and his unfulfilled boast?

As cool as this would be I dont think its gonna happen... Pouncey will be gone by then...atleast we got the better of the two...I also think this pick would be better used on a tackle or corner
Ps. dembelly whats it like to be a complete douche? enjoy watching Dirty Sanchez come up short again.
