Chiefs LB Mike Vrabel, one of the plaintiffs in Brady v. NFL , was arrested and charged with felony theft at the Belterra Casino in Florence, Ind., Pro Football Talk reported Monday afternoon.Vrabel

According to Switzerland County officials, Vrabel, 35, was booked at 5:28 a.m. Monday and released at 10:39 a.m. after posting a $600 bond.

Vrabel, a three-time Super Bowl winner with the Patriots, is a member of the NFLPA executive committee. A hearing in the lawsuit is set for Wednesday in federal court in Minneapolis.

The charge against him is a Class-D felony, the lowest-level felony in the state.

UPDATED (4:15 p.m.):
Vrabel's agent, Neil Cornrich, released a statement to PFT: "It was an unfortunate misunderstanding, and I take full responsibility for the miscommunication. I feel comfortable that after talking with the appropriate parties, we will resolve this matter."

UPDATED II (5:20 p.m.): According to Jason La Canfora of NFL.com , "The matter involves a bar tab and some confusion over how many beers should be on it." It’s a minor issue that is expected to soon be resolved with a "dismissal for want of prosecution."

UPDATED III (5:25 p.m.): KMBC 9 News  in Missouri has other details that are related but subtly contrasting: "Indiana Gaming Commission Director of Enforcement Kenny Rowan said Vrabel was observed by an enforcement agent taking the bottles of alcohol from a deli without paying for them. He said Vrabel was very cooperative during the investigation and posed no problems during the arrest."

Vrabel was traded from the Pats to the Chiefs before the 2009 season and was a starter on the team last season that won the AFC West title.

"We are aware of the reports regarding Mike Vrabel, but we are not permitted to have contact with Mike at this time," the Chiefs said in a statement. "We understand that Mike has communicated publicly that the matter is a misunderstanding for which he takes full responsibility. We hope it is resolved for Mike in a positive way."

Report: Vrabel arrested on theft charge

already feelin the pinch and they have not even missed a payday yet--yeah this will be one long unified holdout----and the owners sit back and laugh some more. glad that his lackey/agent cleared up that this was a miscommunication--happens all the time--some bars make you pay for the drinnks and others do not--wonder at which point vrabel dropped the 'Do you know who ia am" routine---I guess the next step will be seeing him outside a bank in chief-land holding a sign that says will work for beers

Generally, drinks in a casino are free.
Thanks for the education.  Even if it's wrong.

Drinks on the floor are usually free.  You pay for drinks in restaurants and bars.

KC - It was called sarcasm dumbass. Whites would of have went crazy with the racist posts if it was a black guy. Actually read the post before you comment. You might not appear so stupid after doing so..

evets - It's obvious you're just a bitter Meatchicken fan. I would be too if OSU owned my ass year after year after year. Here, maybe this will help you smile more...what do most Michigan students get on their SATs? Drool.

Yup.  It's a shame that blacks are always targeted.  Like the Duke Lacrosse kids.....and so on.  Stop using race as a crutch.  If you have an issue with it...write a letter to the Black President that White America Voted for.  BTW-- Did Rev. Al pay his civil judgement yet?

These Ohio State people, players, alumni and even children are total animals.  This is exactly the type of behavior that is celebrated in Columbus.

Report: Vrabel arrested on theft charge

For such a low level felony, it sounds like he might have nicked a chip from someone.  That being said, it's just another player who, without the supervision of their teams and the NFL, is off getting arrested.

Report: Vrabel arrested on theft charge

If he were black the police report would have started out with "loud music coming from car/hotel room".
