There are changes coming in the NFL Network booth. Our friend Richard Deitsch at Sports Illustrated reports that Mike Mayock, one of the fastest-rising analysts in the business, will replace Matt Millen and Joe Theismann as the color commentator.

Mayock has earned respect throughout the league for his tireless work ethic and commitment to film study. He drew rave reviews for his work in the Saints-Seahawks wild card thriller this past January.

There are also whispers that the lovable Gus Johnson and his ALL CAPS play-by-play style could replace Bob Papa.

I would be glad to see Theisman and Millen gone.  But Bob Papa does a great job in the booth.  He's insightful and usually right on point, not to mention he's great at segwaying away from stupid comments made by others in the booth.

Niklah9 - I couldn't have said it better myself, especially the part about idiot-stick Simms.  CBS should designate him for assignment in Alaska doing the PBP for dog-sled races.

And for the person who wasnt sure who Gus Johnson is , let me help. He is the guy who should be doing the National Championship game.  He might of been able to make that game even sound good.  No slight to Uconn, they are the champs but that game stunk.

Sports your right, the sound was horrible. I had to turn the station just to make sure my tv wasnt going bad. The announcers were bad as well. Being the only game on Thursday night was great but the whole experience was bad due to production and personell.  Mayock would be great just because he is different. I love the NFL network but they gotta fix there game broadcasts bigtime.
