D. McNabb
With Brett Favre retired (we think), the Minnesota Vikings need a quarterback. Donovan McNabb, after a disappointing year in Washington, will need a new team once the lockout ends. Could it be the perfect marriage?

ESPN’s Adam Schefter says there is interest at least on one end. Schefter tweets that he senses McNabb would like to play for Minnesota.

McNabb would be an excellent place-holding quarterback while the Vikings search for a long-term solution. Thanks to his days in Philly, he is well-versed in the West Coast-oriented scheme the Vikings employ.

McNabb wants to be a Viking?

Maybe not.  I heard the Vikings were going to dump the West Coast offense, one of McNabb's base skills.   Thus not a good fit.

McNabb wants to be a Viking?

I think Donovan would be an excellent quarterback for the Vikings. We know one thing at least he will be in training camp on time, getting to know his receivers and getting the timing down with his running backs. He will also play in the preseason games, as most players are suppose to.

The Vikings employ the West Coast offense, Donavan would fit right into that offense. The terminology might be a little different therefore it would take little if any time to get on the same page as the rest of the team members that have been there longer.

I think Donavan would also make a better team leader and would not  have a divided team in the locker room.

The current system he is playing in does not suit his abilities. He should get out of Washington. Even though the system he is playing in does not really suit him, he did put up some decent numbers.

Donavan would also be better at grooming any future quarterback than Brett Favre. Brett did not take the time to assist Rogers while in Green Bay. I don’t think his attitude about grooming his possible replacement has changed that much.

He should remain in Mississippi, assist his nephew in gaining the starting position at his on his college team. Retired look good on Brett.

Those Viking fans that would want Favre back had better start begging now and preparing to send half the team to persuade Brett to come back to the fold. It will probably take an increase in pay also. If you start begging now he might show up before the season start. We all know damn well he will not be there during pre-season. He will not be fined either as most other players are for failure to be in training camp.

McNabb wants to be a Viking?

i agree with evadzed.  brett favre is really the obvious answer here.  even though last year wasn't a good year for him- the team in general didn't have a good year.  remember, the year before he had the best year of his career.  even though he is older (and maybe still hurt) he is the choice over anyone else to start for the vikings.  they should draft a qb now and let favre groom him.  also, i would keep joe webb on the team but not as a first or second stringer but the third-string qb.  i would have him on special teams and as a backup receiver.  i know a lot of people on here bash brett favre every chance they get but i really don't see why.  he gives everything he's got on the field and he is a proven winner.  i know he throws interceptions but so do a lot of qb's.  he also makes things happen and the int's are going to happen if a qb tries to create opportunities.  even though favre is in his 40's he is still in good shape.  i hope minnesota gives favre one more year.

BRING BRETT FAVRE BACK!!

ONCE AGAIN I WILL SAY.... BRING BRETT FAVRE BACK!  ANY OTHER SCENARIO WILL NOT WORK.  EVERYONE KNOWS THAT FAVRE IS THE ANSWER FOR THE VIKINGS OFFENSE.  YOU CAN PRETEND ALL YOU WANT WITH MCNABB OR ANYBODY ELSE WHO WILL BE AVAILABLE BUT FAVRE IS THE BEST ANSWER FOR THE VIKES.  YOU WILL GET IDIOTS ON THIS SITE WHO WILL TALK SMACK ABOUT FAVRE BUT ALL OF THESE KNUCKLEHEADS KNOW I AM RIGHT!
