Apparently, former Arkansas QB Ryan Mallett has had some stunning confessions in the lead-up to the NFL draft. As Pro Football Weekly reports, Mallett has admitted to using drugs to prospective employers.

Yet, he struck a different tone while talking to KRJ radio in Seattle earlier today, when Mallett described why he felt he got a raw deal from NFL.com’s Albert Breer in a previous story that discussed some teams’ concerns about his off-field activities.

Said Mallett (via sportsradiointerviews.com) : “Because Albert [Breer] doesn’t know me. Yeah, Albert doesn’t know me and Albert’s never been around me. Albert doesn’t know what kind of guy I am. That’s why I love these visits, being around the team, so they can see what kind of guy I am and what kind of person I am because all these reports about all this other stuff is mind boggling to me. I don’t know where he gets his information, but to me he got false information.”

Which naturally transitions us into today’s PFW report about Mallett's supposed drug use. One GM told PFW’s Nolan Nawrocki that it was the first time he ever heard a draftee admit that, and a league executive told him that he wouldn’t take Mallett at any point in the draft.

For the record, Breer’s story ran in early January, and the mention of Mallett’s off-field activities was 17 words long.

Report: Mallett admits drug use to NFL teams

There are 2 types of college kids. Those who admit trying pot and liars... Someone will trade up to get Mallet at the end of round 1. The top 5 QB's will not be there for any teams in round 2.

Report: Mallett admits drug use to NFL teams

I didn't need to know about Mallett's drug use to throw him off my board several weeks ago. All I needed to do was watch a couple of his interviews. While Cam Newton only strikes me as a fellow with disturbing narcissistic tendencies, Ryan Mallett, like Terrell Owens, comes off as a thorough-going narcissist.

Jack_Sprat cracks me up in his delusions.
You don't have a board kiddo, you aren't employed by an NFL team.
You are just a troll.

I can see him being the next Big Ben, Phillip Rivers or Jay Cutler.

Lumping Philip Rivers in with players having clear and obvious off field and ego related issues is foolish and ignorant.
Just like the false reports of Philip Rivers flipping off fans, or having an attitude.
The guy is as grounded as they come, and beyond being the clear cut better player than either of the two you lump him in with, he is the clear cut better man being more mature and morally grounded.

You are probably correct another Jay Cutler, a bad attitude and a quitter, I would not take this dude in the first or second round, maybe he had one too many concussions or one too many pills or joints before he played his games he is a head case a basket case NFL teams need to be leary of this guy.

Do they consider that Columbian ragweed down there in Arkansas to be a drug?

Honestly Mallett, You did the right thing.Tell them you did drugs, move on. Hopefully you prioritize what is more important to you, playing in the NFL or doing "drugs."Lol everybody complaining and making him seem like a drug addict.
if he was smoking weed, thats whats up Ryan, everybody smokes weed and its cool, but just stop. I smoke, I'd rather play in the NFL than smoke.lol even if he was doing cocaine or syrup, I'd understand. Both drugs are the shit lol.its all good if he doesnt mess up on a drug test in the NFL.

What piss poor reporting from Josh Katzowitz!  In fact, I wouldn't even call it reporting since he brought nothing new to the table if anyone was doing the reading and listening on their own.

Can CBS get somebody on board that does genuine research and reporting for each of the major sports?  I could have put this together by Googling Ryan Mallett all day long waiting for something to pop up.  The Pro Football Weekly piece has been out there for a week now.  It wasn't published today, it's just that Katzowitz discovered it today.  Get your act togther if this is your profession.  You also forgot to include that the unnamed NFL GM who wouldn't draft Mallett in any round also didn't need a QB and, therefore, wasn't in the market for one to begin with.  That's like being interviewed about whether or not you would be interested in buying a car after you've just driven off the lot in something you're already happy with.

Not too bright are you Jack? Yes that Josh Hamilton, who did flush his life down the toilet, than came back to make the Major Leagues and become an All-Star. That was my whole point, that went straight over your simpleminded Head. He is still on of the Best Hitters and Outfielders in all of Baseball, when he is not injured. Just because you made poor choices in the past, doesn't mean you have no future. I have no doubt though Jack, that you are squeaky clean, and have never tried drugs, or even driven drunk for that matter.

I give him a lot of credit for being honest. That says something about what kind of person he is. Some of the best people I've ever known were drug users at one point in their life. In my opinion Mallet will be the best QB from this draft. Cam Newton will take the money and run and I am not talking about  for TD's.
