The NFL just announced the specific 25 rookies that will appear at Radio City Music Hall on Thursday when the NFL Draft takes place.

The number of players for 2011 is an all-time, record high for invitees -- 17 players attended in 2010 and that was the previous record for rookies who showed up at the NFL Draft.

That's fascinating since there's currently a bit of a situation going on with the lockout, but it's understandable, because there's really no clear-cut way in which the draft will shake out come Thursday night, especially because the Panthers hold a top pick that will set of a chain reaction of dominos when they select, and they have yet to tip their hand.

We all said and hoped for the same for Vick and look how that turned out..
Of course, Newton doesn't have Vick's elusiveness, speed, or arm, either.  The thing with Vick is no one knew if he retained his athleticism after lockup.

Cam Newton plain and simple doesn't have it upstairs to Compete at a high level in the NFL.............He'll do some great plays every now and then and when he goes to all this scramble mess....A pro linebacker will blow his knee out and then he will become a pocket passer and won't have the goods to learn and be able to adjust to a  NFL secondary...............BOTTOM LINE...IT IS WHAT IT IS......PLUS i give it one year and he will be in trouble with the law..............THIS ISN'T AUBURN ANYMORE......NO MORE CHEATING TO PASS

Reasons no one should draft Cam Newton:

1. He didn't win enough National Championships. 2 isn't quite cutting it in college. He should've had at least 6 to be in the discussion with Gabbert, Locker, and Mallett who have a combimed 0.

2. He smiles too much. Football players aren't supposed to be happy.

3. He doesn't have work ethic. He won the Heisman and O'Brien awards by sitting around and eating Krispy Kreme during team meetings, and never putting in any extra work.

4. He's too big and too fast. Athletic Quarterbacks are doomed to fail in the NFL.

5. He was only the 2nd most efficient passer in FBS last year. That's nothing compared to Gabbert (69th) and Locker (81st).

6. He didn't throw enough passing touchdowns (30) compared to Gabbert (16) and Locker (17).

7. He threw too many INTs (6) compared to Mallett (12).

8. His TD/INT ratio (5:1)  was garbage compared to Mallett (2.67:1), Gabbert (1.78:1), and Locker (1.89:1).

9. His completion percentage (66%) was also insufficient especially when compared to Locker (55%).

10. His yards per pass (10.2) were pedestrian compared to Gabbert (6.7) and Locker (6.8).

Clearly Cam Newton is the inferior Quarterback in this draft and anyone who picks him up will be getting someone who cannot perform and who clearly cannot win. Your team will be better off taking Locker, Gabbert or Mallett. I'll give a list of their hardware: A Holiday Bowl Win.... Cam Newton has nothing on these guys.

"It's what should happen, but it never will, because some coach in the first round wants so badly to be known as the guy that won the Super Bowl with a black QB."

Your an idiot.  Doug Williams won Super Bowl XXII with the Redsksins.  Stop making it about a black qb versus a white qb.  The reason he might not become a star QB is because of his poor throwing mechanics, average throwing accuracy and inability to read NFL defenses.

The same reasons that Ryan Leaf, Vince Young, Akili Smith, Todd Marinovich and others were not  successful.

Way to keep your personal feelings out of where he should be drafted. Have you ever met Cam Newton? Did you coach or play with him in college? Are you a pro scout? You sure know alot about someone you never met before. Guess you got all your info from what you heard or read about. Also what has Cam Newton done to make you write this long post at 5am in the morning when most people are still sleep? Did you do a post on the other 24 rookies positives and negatives also. Can't wait to see it! Funny!

Cam Newton will be the Michael Jordan of football. Dont take him and you will go down in history as a stupid team.

ALSO, has anyone heard anything for the fans in the NFL labor dispute? Lower ticket prices?? Cheaper hotdogs? Neither have I. They can all go to hell.
