The gun charge against Vikings CB Chris Cook has been dismissed by a Virginia judge, and Cook tells the Minneapolis Star Tribune that he was never concerned about possibly being found guilty.

"I had good witnesses,” he said. “All of our stories matched each other. They decided they were basically trying to string this story together and just make me look bad. The judge ruled in my favor. ... The verdict was not guilty and he just dismissed it. I'm just happy to get it over with."

Cook had been charged with brandishing a gun, a misdemeanor, after an altercation with his neighbor in March. Cook said he was riding his bicycle when the neigborhood, without provocation, began yelling at him because of a misunderstanding.

Cook was insulted and screamed back, and the man then accused Cook of pointing a gun at him.

"It definitely will make me smarter about how I react to other people and what they say to me or what they try and do to me," Cook told the paper Friday.
