Bush draws criticism for 'relaxing' tweets

If Saints RB Reggie Bush really was trying to make a joke Monday on Twitter, he’d do well to remember one thing: sarcasm rarely comes through in that social medium.

On his Twitter account, Bush wrote “Everybody complaining about the lockout! Shoot I'm making the most of it! Vacation, rest, relaxing, appearances here and there! I'm good!” and “Right about now we would be slaving in 100 degree heat, practicing twice a day, while putting our bodies at risk for nothing.’

A few minutes later, he tweeted the following: “FYI last tweet was a joke! Relax people damn it's called sense of humor! Cry me a river why don't you.”

In between, Bush got lambasted by people because A) playing and practicing football was, you know, his job and B) they didn’t appreciate the term “slaving.”

But there’s potentially a larger problem at play here other than football fans getting upset about something so trivial that a utility running back off-handedly wrote. In the court system, the NFLPA is trying to argue that the NFL owners locking them out are causing the players irreparable harm, and that's a big reason why the District Court granted an injunction to lift the lockout. It’s a little tougher to argue that point when the owners’ lawyers can point to a tweet by Bush that says, “I’m good!”

Sarcasm or not, it just wasn’t a good idea.

Is palmer a disgrace to for not wanting to play for his team? What about simpson he killed his wife. Dude people forget these guys are human to don't get mad a bush for not living up to his potential. He went to a team that all they do is throw the ball with brees, he is a runningback spliting carries as well. There are a lot worse football players out there that played the game and still played the game don't say bush is a disgrace to football when he has done a lot for that city and always has since he came there. Im a fins fan and we should take him in a min after all the last back that didn't work for you was ricky and he ran over everyone in the league for a long time so come on bush come to miami.

Bush draws criticism for 'relaxing' tweets

Let face it. Bush is doing those things like most other NFL players. They have millions, remember? I can't believe all of them are running out of money and if you are you need to learn how to manage it. Look at Hines Ward. He's on Dancing with the Stars. Cinco what's his name is going to try bull riding? I mean these guys aren't like the avearage Joe. They can easily find things to do. I don't see any of them applying for another job. The average Joe should be so lucky. Now lets get back to some football!

Tweeting or whatever the hell they call it, has zero up side. Translation, close your account if you are somewhat to very famous and stop being involved.

Don't these people have anything better to do with their lives?

Who are these no-life losers who follow Tweets? Who is so important that people need to monitor what they are doing each and every minute of the day. What the ...k? Pathetic in all seriousness.

I agree with Carolina.  I'm tired of hearing about Tweets and Posts and lockout legal updates.  Football for many of us is a distraction and all the NFL and NFLPA is doing is jeopardizing their fan base and potentially their  wallets.  If I wanted to see a millionaire complain I'd watch more of Donald Trump.

Reggie Bush should ultimately shut his mouth about anything though.  He should be in the gym working out and trying to strengthen the weak muscles that won't allow him to play in 16 games a season.

lol @ people who act like these players 'can't do what normal people do' or 'need to be locked in a cage till game day'

The only reason why the bad jokes you say doesn't get aired out on a national scene for all to see and people tell you how horrible of a person you are is because no one cares about you.  You aren't worth the space on a website nor the ink in a paper to write a story about how Joe Blow is a bigot against Same-Sex couples because of an off-color joke he used.  Or how you are lazy because you tweeted 'can't wait till the weekend'.

Some of you people need to get real, get off the high horse - the air is too thin up there for you to think properly.
