Reid: No done deal for Kolb

For those who believe the Eagles have a deal done with some unnamed team to trade away QB Kevin Kolb once the lockout is over, Philadelphia coach Andy Reid has some bad news for you. It hasn’t happened.

That’s what he told Comcast Sports Net (via the Philadelphia Daily News), saying that although teams had shown interest in Kolb before the lockout shut down the league, “you don't know how serious they are, because in the National Football League, nothing happens until it has to happen."

And though there has been plenty of talk about what the Eagles would receive for Kolb – most probably a first-round pick, wouldn’t you say? – Reid said discussions never got that specific.

"You have an idea of who's interested in quarterbacks ... but you couldn't do any deals then. You never got to that point where it's real serious; it was too far in advance," Reid said. "And you can't talk at all now. So, if he ends up going somewhere, more power to him, he deserves that opportunity. But I also like him here."

Reid: No done deal for Kolb

I've seen the "Eagles have already traded Kevin Kolb" posts, blogs and even a couple of articles.  It really might be in their interest to hold onto him.  Michael Vick got battered pretty badly last season.  So unless Philly has improved its O-Line enormously, they need a capable backup.  What other QBs do they have?

The eagles would best be served keeping him in philly. When u have a QB like Vick u just never know when hes one scramble and one hard hit away from needing a solid backup.

THERE IS A COUPLE CHEESEHEAD REPRESENTATIVES THAT THINK THEY ARE HOT SHIT AND TOUGHER THAN JAY CUTLER AND BE EXCELLENT QUARTERBACKS IN THE NFL.  THEIR NAMES ARE MATT CANTER AND PAUL RYAN MAVBE YOU SHOULD PICK UP THEM FROM THE WISCONSIN POLITICAL OFFICES.   OH P
HILLY DONT LIKE GUYS WHO RUN THEIR MOUTH. TOO BAD BECAUSE THEY THINK IT IS EASY BEING A QB IN THE NFL.  ACTUALLY CANTER SAYS BECAUSE CUTLER GOT HURT WAS THE REASON THE PACKERS WON THE SUPERBOWL.  NOW THERES A GUY STICKING UP FOR HIS HOME TEAM.

Reid: No done deal for Kolb

I'd say this is Reid:
A) Covering his butt to avoid a fine
B) Drumming up interest for a mostly unproven QB
C) Offerign some reassurance to Kolb himself
D) All of the above

Answer: D) All of the above.

PS. I hope the Seahawks don;t go near this guy. The already wated picks on an unproven 3rd stinger for his career in Charlie "Manson" Whitehurst. If they don't resign Hasselbeck (no big loss here as he is at the twilight of his carrer and Seahawks are in rebuild mode) they should give Manson a chance to see if he can do anything/become the next QB. I would rather the Seahawks do this and draft a QB or go after Carson Palmer vs wasting more picks on an unproven QB who more than likely will get jacked up as they are rebuilding the Oline.

I've seen alotta posts everywhere that the Eagles had already traded Kevin Kolb to the Cardinals for Patrick Peterson.  I can see Donovan McNabb on the Cards easily, but wow, I've seen the above rumor many places here on the boards.  It will end up a good deal for Philly wherever he goes.  Vikings, 49ers, Dolphins. Seahawks, Bengals?  Redskins?  Plenty of interest in Kolb I suspect.
