When Titans WR Kenny Britt was arrested in April, it sounded like he might be in some real trouble. When you’re allegedly trying to evade police officers during a high-speed chase, that’s not usually a recipe that ends in being let off with a slap on the wrist.

BrittBut, as the Tennessean’s Jim Wyatt tells us, that seems to be exactly what Britt has received.

According to Wyatt, Britt has pleaded guilty in a New Jersey court to careless driving and will only have to pay a $478 fine. He also will have four points added to his driver’s license.

Considering this isn’t Britt’s first time in trouble with the law, you have to wonder if commissioner Roger Goodell will deem it necessary to punish Britt himself. But for now, Britt should be thankful he seemingly was let off rather softly.

Kenny Britt pleads guilty to careless driving

How long have I been waiting for te titans to get a WR, and when they gat a half decent one, he is such a dumbass he can't stay out of trouble for 10 seconds.

I had some ssues with Coach Fisher's play calling, but at least he kept a tight leash on the idiots.  I hope the Titans can move forward and this bone head gorws up real soon.

$478 is a lot to NFL players in these hard economic times (sarcasm, just in case you didnt notice it).  He might need to sell some jewelry or not pay his agent to pay for it.

Kenny Britt pleads guilty to careless driving

Oh come on!  Anyone who says professional athletes dont get preferential or kid glove treatment also believes the recession is over, "The Donald" will be our next Prez, and that Jesus Shuttlesworth plays for the Heat.  My son (a college student on a limited income) got a wreckless driving citation in Maryland (one of our country's great Socialist states, by the way) some 4 years ago...after being involved in a single-car rollover accident caused by a faulty tire that blew on the rental car he was driving.  There were no other cars or property damage involved, but my son had to be medi-vac'd to shock trauma with a compound fracture of his clavicle. The female state tropper who arrived at the scene AFTER my son had already been transported made the astute and thoughtful decision to issue him a FIVE point (and $740 fine) wreckless driving citation to further his pain.  Her explanation..."The beltway had to be shut down for over an hour & a helicopter dispatched...these things cost the state money, thus he deserves it".  Intelligent, eh?  Now you tell me Britt didnt get a break....Had Trooper Rugmunch been present at his arrest he would likely have been tazed, shackled, and had his lisence revoked on the spot!

Maybe the police exaggerated the original claim of evading arrest or maybe Britt's high priced lawyer dropped the hammer on the prosecutor and this is where they met with the compromises they both made.  The fine is not huge for him, for me it would be.  The 4 points though makes it seem pretty serious driving offense, 4 points is alot for one ticket.

$478 ?

How ridiculous. Sure, charge a middle class civilian that much for a ticket... but since he's an overpaid NFL player who makes millions of dollars, the ticke should be for $4,780,000. That number sounds a little bit better.
