Posted by Josh KatzowitzBecause we just can’t get enough of the battles between New Jersey police and Titans WR Kenny Britt – he pleads guilty to crimes and then hours later, gets arrested again by narcotics officers – here’s the latest.
According to the The Tennessean, Britt, originally arrested for resisting arrest, has been charged with tampering with evidence and obstructing a government function because he allegedly crushed a cigar containing marijuana while officers tried to arrest him.
According to the complaint, Britt was approached by two officers in Hoboken, N.J., Wednesday night, and he broke a rolled-up cigar leaf in half, destroying the evidence before officers could investigate it.
The complaint also states, Britt "did purposely prevent or attempt to prevent a public servant from lawfully performing an official function by means of force or violence, specifically by refusing to open your hand when ordered to do so then pulling your hand away."
It should be noted that though Britt pleaded guilty to a careless driving charge a day before his latest arrest, he was originally accused of leading officers on a high speed car chase.*
*If Britt is not going to stop finding reasons for officers to arrest him, the least he could is not make life so damn difficult for the policemen who have to handcuff him.
The charges could land Britt in trouble with the law, but they're also probably going to land him in hot water with commissioner Roger Goodell. Yet, there is good news for Britt and Titans.
As of 5:33 p.m. ET, Britt had not been arrested by police this ENTIRE afternoon.
