Wayne Weaver said his team will remain in Jacksonville (Getty).Posted by Josh Katzowitz

With so much talk about AEG and which teams across the NFL that it’s targeting for relocation to Los Angeles, there are only really a few organizations that are truly in danger.

The Chargers are one, for sure. Maybe the Raiders, and depending on what happens with the Minnesota voters and their desire to partially fund a new stadium, perhaps the Vikings.

But if Jaguars owner Wayne Weaver has anything to say about it – and since he’s the owner, he absolutely does – Jacksonville doesn’t have to worry about losing its NFL franchise.

“I have no interest [in Los Angeles],” Weaver told the Florida Times-Union today. “I have been consistent in saying I am committed to Jacksonville and have no interest [in moving].”

Two years ago, the Jaguars perhaps would have been a fine candidate to leave, but last season, none of their home games were blacked out. With the lockout, though, ticket sales have slowed again. But if Jacksonville fans were worried, they can breathe a sigh of relief at Weaver’s latest proclamation.

“We have to work hard and be more creative because we’re in a small market in a difficult economy with high unemployment rates and a housing crisis that is more difficult than in other cities,” Weaver said.

And the team will have to be the one to solve those problems, because, as Weaver says, the Jaguars are going to stay in its small market instead of moving to one of the biggest in the country.

For those making the argument that the team had no blackouts last year because Jacksonville suddenly had an interest in football are mis-informed. It was because your team petitioned the NFL to allow for less seating.  Not because you had an sudden influx of fans...get over yourselves.  As for Los Angeles, we're going to probably end up with 2 teams when its all said and done; one in downtown LA and one in the City of Industry.  Other than it not being the Raiders, I could care less about which teams come over.

Jax owner says his team is staying put

Lets move to LA where the fans leave at halftime, sip mint julips  during the game, have the worst crime in America, around the stadium, and one of the worst economies in the country. Yeah, LA sounds like a great place to move a team...haha! They may bring in more money  but the govt just takes that money with its bloated tax rates. The fact is California is bankrupt and if I were a owner I would take my monety there...And since you are too stupid to look at a map, Jax has a beach too.....we even have million dollar home on that beach. But I ddnt expect you to know we had a beach...LA has its elit ebut you fauil to talk about all the slum there as well. LA is a cest pool of crap....I dont see any team in LA b/c everyone knows the fans cant support a team b/c they are too worried about what party they are ateending that night than supporrting a team. If a team moves there, its a gurantee that team will move out of LA within 15-20 years b/c like I said, LA fans are the worst in the world

TO 32ZONE-

Please refrain from making yourself look like a moron....You know NOTHING about Jax and you sound like the typical idiot who opens his trap w/o knowing anything. LA had its chance- twice! Why would a team leave on eof the fastest growing cities in America...The problem with peopl elike you is you put things out there w/o doing any research, but typical of morons like you. LA is full of horrible fans which is why they have lost two teams already. Peopl ein Jax love football and we didnt blackout one game last year yet many team did. Jax is staying here and there is nothing idiotic people lik eyou can say or do to change that. You have proven to all of cbs that you have no credibility and should refrain from commenting on things you obviously no NOTHING about.   MORON

Money isn't going to sway Weaver.  He's got plenty of it.  He's could practically be crowned the king of Jacksonville.  With the people and the government.    In LA he's just another billionaire who would have to deal with the vipers nest of west coast politics.  Oh and there's also that "wonderful" business and tax climate in California.  Compared to Florida it's a communist state.  He's also old enough to want to leave a long lasting legacy on a community that he loves and that loves him back.  I've watched the guy since he got here and he's always been a straight shooter with the fans.  When he talks I believe him.  If he stays healthy, no way he sell or moves this team.  Now if his health turns then yes all bets are off since he has no real heir capable of running the franchise.  He's said for years that when he does sell it will be to an owner with local interests and ties.  Time will tell.

Good for Jags

LA sucks hairy balls, that's why nobody interested in keeping their team's perception as having integrity and class wants to move anywhere into LA. See also: Dodgers, Lakers, Clippers, Anaheim Royals... barf. It makes me ill just to post to this article.  Somebody reply to this when they can give me an example where going to LA to cheer for the visitor won't put me in a coma.

Why would the Jaguars leave a small city with less crime?  Why would they leave a city that is one of the fastest growing areas of the country?  Why would they leave a city in which the owner has roots and cares about the community?  Enough said!  Somethings are more important than money, and somethings can't be bought with endorsement cash and guarantted money.
