What else did Harrison tell magazine reporter?

HarrisonPosted by Josh Katzowitz

In an interesting admission today, the writer of the controversial James Harrison piece for Men’s Journal magazine told Harrison to do whatever he needs to do in order to make peace with his quarterback.

“We talked about 11 o’clock yesterday morning,” Paul Solotaroff told ESPN radio, via Pro Football Talk. “Look, James is the guy who’s got to live with Ben for the next three years.... So as I told James, ‘Listen, whatever you’ve got to say to mend fences is perfectly fine with me.’”

That’s why Harrison told Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger that Solotaroff twisted his words in the story.

But it also sounds like Solotaroff didn’t use all the quotes he could have, and apparently, Harrison got really nasty in the interview (it, of course, would be a surprise if Harrison wasn't nasty)

Harrison's Big Day
“I filled up three notebooks, I don’t know how many hours of digital tape, and I cut so much stuff from this piece,” Solotaroff said. “There is just acres of stuff James said that’s compelling and amusing and riveting. And that wasn’t the only thing he said about Ben.”

In addition to bashing Roethlisberger and RB Rashard Mendenhall in the piece that ran -- he also said some not-so-nice things about commissioner Roger Goodell -- Solotaroff left on the cutting room floor the quote in which Harrison called Cleveland’s Colt McCoy “an idiot kid quarterback.”

But you know what’s also kind of weird about this interview? Solotaroff seems like a HUGE fan of Harrison.

“I was furious at the way James got done by Goodell last year,” Solotaroff said. “I thought making him the poster boy for this abrupt and arbitrary rule change . . . was about the most wrongheaded thing you could do, particularly since Goodell seemed bent on singling James out.”

That’s fine for Solotaroff to feel that way. But now it sounds like Solotaroff is protecting Harrison from getting into even more trouble, simply because he likes Harrison so much.

And when you basically admit to that in a radio interview, your credibility as an objective reporter will get called into question. As it should be.

What else did Harrison tell magazine reporter?

Facts are too much for people to handle.
No, you're wrong.  Most of us get the connection but does that make it any better?  Am I supposed to just change my opinion based on the fact that he is imitating a movie/video game?

I could go off and imitate the Saw movies but it doesn't make it right.  Both of you need to realize that it is all about the image you portray and posing for this picture in a magazine portrays a negative image and then when you add in his moronic comments it makes the image even worse.

Writer to Harrison - "Make Peace"

Everyone esle to Harrison - "Shut TFU".  We are tired of hearing from your arrogant ass.  You are a good player, but so was TO.  Eventually you are going to wear out your welcome in Pittsburgh, and anywhere else you are given a chance to play for a single season.  If Pittsburgh has to choose between you and Ben, you may as well buy your plane tickets now. I am not a Steelers fan, or a Big Ben fan,and I am definetely not a fan of yours, but almost everyone else, including many Steelers fans are tired of your act. PLEASE Shut TFU.

Maybe the rest of the league should watch the superbowl again, and just follow the defensive game plan Green Bay had for that game, then both harrison and the DPOY, would never be heard of again, since they were a non-factor in that gameTongue out
How can the defensive game plan of the Pack have anything to do with Harrison and Polamalu???
Maybe you meant offensive game plan...right buddy.
I'll tip my cap to Aaron Rodgers for that game, he played like they were running their offense against air.
But I will say Polamalu was definately not 100% for that game and it obviously showed.
I think Clay Mathews should have been DPOY as well.
I have to say I hope I never hear another Harrison quote again but I sure would miss watching this guy play ball, he is an absolute beast!

What else did Harrison tell magazine reporter?

I think it becomes more and more clear everyday that Harrison is one of the most classless players in the league.
Perhaps, but one thing is for sure... James Harrison will never be able to top the Eagles starting QB in terms of classlessness!

The photo of James Harrison holding the guns is meant to emulate the dvd cover of the movie HIT MAN. It's not to show him as a thug. It's called a metaphor. Get it! HIT MAN? I can't believe how many idiots we have in this world. GROW UP!

What else did Harrison tell magazine reporter?

Harrison is a cancer, plain & simple.
Disagree. The man has been a big part of 3 AFC titles in the last 6 years and two Super Bowl championships, so he can't be all bad. Also, it wasn't immaturity that made James Harrison an undrafted free agent. Most teams thought he was too small and too stupid to play in the NFL. Now he's the one laughing at everyone who has doubted him his entire life. The best part of your post though was a potential trade to the Raiders. How about a blockbuster trade such as Harrison to Oakland for Nnamdi Asomugha? No, I don't see that happening as I know Mr. Harrison will be a Steeler until he retires and I couldn't be happier about that. However, it would make for more big headlines!
