In recent years, HBO's Hard Knocks has served as something of a bridge between the offseason and the regular season. A guilty pleasure that got us through the tediousness of training camps (although we'd now gladly endure such tedium if it mean actual football … but don't worry, it's coming!) and offered us a glimpse behind the curtain.

There was no other show like it on television and for various reasons, there won't be a show like it this preseason, either. Sports Illustrated's Peter King tweets:

Luckily, we won't have time to bemoan the monotony of those few weeks between the start of training camp and the final preseason game because once the lockout ends, the race to the regular season will be frenetic (we're guessing the interpretive dance would look something like this).

That means we won't get to see the Panthers or Patriots or Packers or Texans or Raiders. Or any other team for that matter.

And that's okay. At this point we'll just settle for football.

Report: Down goes Hard Knocks

college is awful their postseason is a bigger joke they have a worthless regular season which will only result in one championship game SEC champ against whatever big conference a computer picks and the SEC wins. Their overtime is embarassing to watch and digest. Its not even close.

Hard Knocks is a good show and will be good to have back next year.

I could really care less if "Hard Knocks" was coming on or not! As long as there's a NFL season,it's all good baby! I say this is because for one,I'm all for college football and two,I just want to get my fantasy football game "on and poppin"! Besides, I know every that's a big fan of "Madden" feels the same way too!CoolLaughingWink

Its probably the NFL Trying to push out HBO so that the NFL network can have it. If not now soon. Then before to long, all games will be played on a pay per view basis. This is the road were on.
The NFL will never take the games away of your local team. If they made you pay to watch your team in your area do you know how many fans they would lose?

Too bad ... I always enjoyed watching the marathon of reruns HBO would show just before the season started.
