The wide-receiver dominos are beginning to fall -- Santonio Holmes agreed to terms on a five-year deal with the Jets, according to multiple reports.

Holmes was considered one of the priority for this offseason for the Jets, especially given that the Washington Redskins were rumored to be pursuing him as well.

However the Redskins made their own noise over the past two days in terms of wideouts, re-signing incumbent No. 1 Santana Moss and then inking Donte Stallworth on Wednesday.

Holmes was a critical addition to the Jets in 2010 and despite missing several games because of suspension, still posted big numbers.

The Jets decision to re-up on Holmes contract means it's unlikely that they'll re-sign Braylon Edwards. It also means that we could see a big run on free-agent wideouts in the near future as other free agents now see what the market Bears out and beginning heavier negotiations with other teams.

Love how you think I disappeared, but how would you know? I couldn't find a Pats fan for miles, unless it was SoxCeltsPats trolling during the rest of the playoffs. Have fun being a lie detector    ! By the way, you don't need a space between the end of your sentence . Puncutuation isn't a word on it's own , or is it . . . Go back to reading your children's stories.

@Jetsfan10, Your lying ass ! You are one of those bragging, then invisible fans I was talking about. YOU disappeared when the Patriots beat the Jets in the Monday night game, 49-3. Then you resurfaced a few weeks later to brag before and after the Jets beat New England in the playoffs. Only to disappear again like a coward along with many of your friends after the Steelers eliminated the Jets ! Don't come on here telling your lies !

And also, I was here congratulating you and the other Jets fans when you beat us in the playoffs> I took my medicine, as always. I'M THE ONE THAT SHOWED UP ! YOU DIDN'T, PINOCCHIO !

And that's why it's been 4 years since the Pats were even close to a Super Bowl... because their chances are so high. If anything, I could have sworn it has been Pats fans disappearing after a playoff loss, including one to New York last year. Seems like you are mixing us up.

I'm saying that he will no longer be the impact WR he has been. His stats weren't that great last year.

Jetsfan10 and Matty Dubz. Talk all you want. I'm used to Jetsfan going giddy and starting up like this. Then he disappears when the Jets are eliminated from the playoffs. I'll take the Pats chances of winning another Super Bowl over the Jets any day.

Booyah !

So your saying he's gonna be washed up at 29 years old? You do know that Holmes in only 27 right?

Totally agree with you this time TribeFan. The Jets just gave away some money. 5 years ???? His best years are already behind him. he might have TWO decent years left. The Jets will get virtually nothing in the final three.
