The wide-receiver dominos are beginning to fall -- Santonio Holmes agreed to terms on a five-year deal with the Jets, according to multiple reports.

Holmes was considered one of the priority for this offseason for the Jets, especially given that the Washington Redskins were rumored to be pursuing him as well.

However the Redskins made their own noise over the past two days in terms of wideouts, re-signing incumbent No. 1 Santana Moss and then inking Donte Stallworth on Wednesday.

Holmes was a critical addition to the Jets in 2010 and despite missing several games because of suspension, still posted big numbers.

The Jets decision to re-up on Holmes contract means it's unlikely that they'll re-sign Braylon Edwards. It also means that we could see a big run on free-agent wideouts in the near future as other free agents now see what the market Bears out and beginning heavier negotiations with other teams.

Try a google search for hmmm, what was it? Super Bowl III was it? Hard for a team that has won a Super Bowl to never win one, isn't it? Are you a Dolphins fan, Marine? Or maybe it is a Bills fan who still can't get over 4 losses in a row? Maybe even a Pats fan that is watching the dynasty crumble beneath them?

OK New Jersy judges just High Fived everyone they seen knowing they still have a job for the next 5 years. Yes I am a Bills fan and yes we lost 4 Super Bowls in a Row in the 90s. I am over it maybe Jets fans can get over winning in the LATE 60S with Joe Namath now. The Jets fans can only wish to be as successful as the Steelers or Patriots. The 60s is ancient history get off the High Horse because guess what, the Jets have been as good as the Bills since 1969. They have not won anything in FORTY TWO YEARS.

The Colts threw the game per the NFL's request to help with the Merger and make the AFL legit. Just ask Bubby Smith he'll tell you the truth. So in theory they have to win one that wasn't given to them by the league!

If he can stay away from the dope, he is a great sign...One more and he is gone for a year. The guy isnt at TUOS anymore where they can hide and lie about offense's. Jess Sayin'

Jets can do whatever they want it will not work....History repeats - This franchise can not and will not win a superbowl ever.  Everyone BUT Jet's fans knows this.  How many years have we heard Jet's fans spout about the superbowl they are going to win....and then their team crumbles....It is soooo funny!

First off, this had to be done. Holmes was too clutch and vital to the growth of sanchez, and they will only grow and become a great duo in the league for years to come. Secondly, although its 50 mil a year, the contract is most likely backloaded, so you cant rule out the jets getting nnamdi yet althought it seems like it. If anyone wants to some entertainment and likes to argue, go to the espn board for the holmes signing.. so funny

Big Contract = Big Party this guy will get arrested again mark my words. He is a GREAT character player and a hell of a role model that I would want on my team. He now can buy lots of Weed, a few more Ipods and beat some more women. NY judges just had a fist bump session.

The Jets are morons.  Holmes only has one year over 1000 yards receiving and over 5 TDs.  The Jets offense was explosive with Braylon Edwards and no Holmes.  The Steelers offense is better with Mike Wallace.  Holmes is overrated, he drops balls, fumbles, does not block and has concentration issues.  He is like a shitty version of Randy Moss.

If the Patriots or the Colts are smart they sign Braylon Edwards, and he'll start putting up another 16 TD season.
