The wide-receiver dominos are beginning to fall -- Santonio Holmes agreed to terms on a five-year deal with the Jets, according to multiple reports.

Holmes was considered one of the priority for this offseason for the Jets, especially given that the Washington Redskins were rumored to be pursuing him as well.

However the Redskins made their own noise over the past two days in terms of wideouts, re-signing incumbent No. 1 Santana Moss and then inking Donte Stallworth on Wednesday.

Holmes was a critical addition to the Jets in 2010 and despite missing several games because of suspension, still posted big numbers.

The Jets decision to re-up on Holmes contract means it's unlikely that they'll re-sign Braylon Edwards. It also means that we could see a big run on free-agent wideouts in the near future as other free agents now see what the market Bears out and beginning heavier negotiations with other teams.

Also, isn't that huge receiver Jones from Green Bay a free agent?  I would love to see him on the Redskins.  Hail.
Yes, James Jones is indeed a free agent. I'm not really so sure about him though. There's a ton more talent in Green Bay on the offensive side of the football and for the most part, Jones didn't stick out a whole lot even with Aaron Rodgers throwing him the ball. When you combine those factors together, I could see him also struggling to stick out with a guy like John Beck throwing him the ball. Granted I wouldn't be surprised if Andrew Luck or Landry Jones was throwing him and the other Washington receivers the ball starting in 2012. Rodgers wants him back, so we'll see Undecided

Smart signing by the Jets to choose Santonio Holmes over Braylon Edwards. He is simply the better receiver. Holmes doesn't have the issue with dropped passes and comes up big time in the biggest games (Super Bowl winning catch with the Steelers against Arizona, nice catch in New England in the Divisional Round). Plus in four less games, Holmes only had one less reception, one less touchdown catch and just 151 yards less receiving. I guess they could still technically bring Braylon back as well, but my guess is he will get a big contract from someone (Miami? Washington?) and the Jets won't want to match the offer.

Redskins made noise by signing Donte Stallworth?  What noise did that make, a farting sound?  Who cares.  He will not even make the team.  If the Redskins want to make noise, they better go grab a legitimate starting caliber receiver on the double.  Just out of curiosity, was Jacoby Jones an unrestricted free agent?  I always liked him.  I see he re-signed with the Texans.  Also, isn't that huge receiver Jones from Green Bay a free agent?  I would love to see him on the Redskins.  Hail.

I agree. To be honest I thought he was overrated a bit when he first left Pitt, but the dude is definitely one of the best WR skills available.

Jets can do whatever they want it will not work....History repeats - This franchise can not and will not win a superbowl ever.  Everyone BUT Jet's fans knows this.  How many years have we heard Jet's fans spout about the superbowl they are going to win....and then their team crumbles....It is soooo funny!

Although us Jets fans love the idea of Nnamdi becoming a Jet, this is the one signing that makes the most sense.  Great signing for the J E T S!

Had to have him back. Sanchez needs to have his deep threat in that offense and Holmes is it.
