Report: Kolb camp wants $30M guaranteed extension

Over and over again this offseason, I've said that no one's seen a bigger boost in their value than Kevin Kolb. That at this point all that value is squarely concentrated in terms of leverage against the Arizona Cardinals is neither here nor there.

But maybe Kolb's getting a little ahead of himself. See, according to a report from Sports Illustrated's Jim Trotter, Kolb's camp is demanding an extension when he's dealt that features $30 million in guaranteed money.

No, really.

Kolb obviously wants to be traded -- he's intimated as much before and he might not show up to Philly's training camp on Wednesday -- but he doesn't just want to get traded, apparently.

He also wants to get paid. And paid like he's one of the best players in the NFL.

Oh, and he wants the team that's about to give up a player like Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie as well a high draft pick in order to acquire him to do the paying. I mean, obviously he wants Arizona to cough up the cash, but it seems like Kolb's camp might be overstepping their bounds a bit on this issue.

Is Kolb worth the value discussed -- DRC plus a high draft pick -- in the potential deal? Maybe. We honestly don't know, and won't until (if?) we see him on the field for the Cardinals.

And, regardless of how much scouting they've done on Kolb, neither will they. Which is what makes a demand like $30 million guaranteed pretty ridiculous.

Report: Kolb camp wants $30M guaranteed extension

"Orton to AZ.  Kolb sits on the bench @ Phil, goes in when Vick gets hurt and based on his por play get cut next year.  This guy is a idiot. 30 mil???"

"His por play"??? Remember, Kolb went up against one of the leagues best defensive minds in the 1st game of the year, and lost his job, unfairly. due to injury. Then when the ex-con got injuried(as usual), the Eagles had their BEST game of the year, with Kolb running the team.

If Arizona doesn't land Corn Kolb for undeserved monies...Mr. Fitzgerald stated he wants OUT of Arizona.
What other QB out there will satisfy Larry besides Corn Kolb?
I couldn't care less at this point. What could we get for Fitzgerald? He wants out unless we damage our future...I say give him his wish.

Report: Kolb camp wants $30M guaranteed extension

Am I the only one who would take Orton over Kolb in a heartbeat? Kolb has 11 TD's and 14 interceptions in 7 starts and 18 games played in. A QB rating of 73? Why is he so coveted? Because I personally don't see it. Kyle Orton on the other hand just doesn't get any respect after putting up decent numbers with a Bears team that has no offensive line then going to the Broncos and being one of the league leaders in passing until they decide to hand the ball over to Tebow. I just don't get it. I'd love a QB putting up 3600 yards, 20 TD's and 9 Interceptions. His 88 passer rating was better than Kolb by a lot and Cutler by just 2. But still at least this guy is proven and I've never heard him complain, Kolb on the other hand does nothing but complain and doesn't walk the walk. Please tell me why he deserve top QB money when he's not even a second tier QB?

No way Kevin Kolb should get $30 million.  That's as bad as those starting rookie contracts.  He had a couple good games and that's it!  He hasn't played a full season and when he got the chance to start he got beat out by a convict who hadn't played in a few years.  Not saying that Kolb isn't good..heck...he might be great...but he just hasn't shown anything to warrant a monster payday.  You go in and get hurt the first game or two and then ask for $30 mill from the team that would have to trade the farm for you?   Get used to that bench Kolb... I know the Cardinals might be desperate but no one is THAT desperate.

Did anyone actually watch the Eagles last year with Kolb under center?  They looked like a 5 win team at best.  He threw a bunch of ducks and was also very hesitant.  He will be just as bad in Arizona and he knows it, hence why he's trying to get the big guarantees so when he fails it won't matter.<br />
