Dolphins trade for Reggie Bush, signs 2-year deal

Reggie Bush was considered all but certain to be a salary cap casualty for the New Orleans Saints thanks to his $11.8 million salary for 2011 ... until they managed to trade him to the Miami Dolphins on Thursday morning.

Jay Glazer of Fox Sports inititally reported the news (very) early on Thursday morning and the Miami Herald's Jeff Darlington confirmed the news, reporting that 'Fins GM Jeff Ireland wanted to "sleep on it."

Well, it looks like Ireland's awake now, and Bush is Miami-bound, as reports now indicate that Bush signed off on a two-year deal with the Dolphins.

Bush could be motivated to prove that he can indeed succeed as the featured back on a roster, which a move to Miami would likely let him do -- he and Daniel Thomas would theoretically provide a one-two punch in South Beach.

Plus he now get a fresh start -- things got ugly after the Saints decided to draft another former Heisman winner in Mark Ingram and Bush awkwardly tweeted "it's been fun" afterwards.

The running back market now changes dramatically, as the Dolphins were expected to compete for Ahmad Bradshaw and Ronnie Brown. Their decision to trade for Bush should allow inflation on running backs to sink a bit.

Dolphins trade for Reggie Bush, signs 2-year deal

I hear everyones issues and negativity and propose the following positive remarks:
  • First; If history repeats it's self, lets remember how well the last player we got from New Orleans did his first year. (Run Reggie Run!!!!) (for those who don't follow Miami and just like to complain, Ricky Williams 1800 yds)
  • Second; since we don't have a quarterback or receivers who can make something happen, a recieving back such as Bush is a necessity (Check one, Check two, Check three oh well here you go Reggie).
  • Lastly; Tho Kim says she is Italian or Indian or something, she looks LATIN! South Florida will keep Reggie quite happy.

Can't believe the 'Fins traded for and overpaid Bush when they could have had Sproles for nothing and paid him less.  Not to mention that Sproles has better numbers across the board:  more yards/carry, more yards/catch, more yards/punt return, great kick returner, less injury prone, more TD's, fewer fumbles.  Not a thug who disgraced his school and the heisman.  This move really make the Dolphins front office look stupid.

Poll it up fellas!!!

A.  Reggie comes to Miami and gets injured for 1/2 the season

OR

B. Kim flys down from where ever she is and F*cks up Reggie's head and tanks the whole Dolphin season.

OR

C. He has a break-out season and runs like he did back in his college days?

Poll it up guys....What do you think?

Hes still a cheating, glorified punt returner.  Houston still made the right choice.

It would depend on the offensive schemes the Dolphins would use that would determine if Reggie Bush would be successful being a Dolphin. If the is used in a manner that New Orleans used him he would stretch the defense as he is sort of like a wild card, Running back or receiver out of the back field.

At SC he was part of a backfield combination that was hard to defend and the coach used him in such a manner that made the entire team a success, not only Reggie. Of course there were other weapons,  so the defense could not key in on one or two players.

I wish Reggie well and hope his new coach would know how to use him to the best advantage of the team and Reggie so both would be successful.
